Video: “Do you dare to look at her?” Far-right Wilders squirms under challenge from Dutch MP

Islamophobe’s shifty discomfort confronted with the reality of Israel’s mass murder of children

Far-right Dutch party leader and notorious Islamophobe Geert Wilders got an uncomfortable dose of truth this week when confronted by Denk party leader Stephan van Baarle in the Netherlands Parliament with images of Palestinian children murdered in cold blood by Israel – a few of more than 200,000 children slaughtered during Israel’s genocide in Gaza, according to analysis of the Israeli military’s own data.

Wilders, who like many far-right and fascist figures in Europe and elsewhere loves Israel – perhaps because they admire and envy its ethno-nationalist Jewish supremacism – didn’t seem to know quite where to put himself as he was shown images of Hind Rajab, the five-year-old killed along with her family in their car by more than three hundred and fifty machine-gun bullets from an Israeli tank only around forty feet away, and other child victims of the racist colonial regime.

So much so that van Baarle taunted his far-right opponent as Wilders’s eyes went anywhere but at Hind’s photo, “Do you dare to look at her?”:

The far-right loves the racist ethno-coloniser and would love to emulate its apartheid, forced displacement and extermination in the UK and around Europe rather than face up to the fact that refugees arrive here because western governments bomb their countries, undermine their governments and economies and steal their resources.

That racist ideology is being pushed hard by the ‘Labour’ government of Keir Starmer just as much as by the Tories and by fascist ‘Reform UK’. It must be resisted.
