Israel Katz promises mass murder on scale of biblical deaths of Egypt’s firstborn
Genocidal Israeli ‘defence’ minister Israel Katz has boasted about Israel’s bombing of Yemen’s presidential palace – and followed it up with a promise to slaughter untold numbers of Yemen’s children.
Katz promised that there “will be a plague of the firstborn”:
Today we destroyed the Houthi presidential palace. For every missile they launch toward Israel, the Houthis will pay compound interest.
Today we brought upon the Houthis a plague of darkness and gloom, and in the
future – there will also be a plague of the firstborn.
“Plague of the firstborn” is a reference to the biblical passage in Exodus 11 in which God destroys every firstborn male in Egypt – human and animal – because Pharoah would not let the Israelites leave. But Katz is promising an entirely man-made slaughter, a continuation of the colonisers’ mass murder of around 450,000 Palestinians – almost all civilians – in Gaza and its starvation blockade that is now killing almost four hundred Palestinians a day, according to United Nations figures.
Not satisfied with genocide in Gaza, the Israeli regime says it intends to commit the same crime in Yemen – all because the Yemenis dare to do what the UK and other western governments are obliged under international law to do, but refuse: resist Israel’s genocide and other atrocities in Gaza.
