Terrorist pots and pans banned from Gaza protest

Proscription of kitchen implements soon to follow?

The Met Police banned demonstrators taking part in last night’s anti-genocide protest outside the embassy of fascist Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely from bringing pots and pans to the protest, apparently on the basis that the noise might stop the embassy from carrying on its usual genocidal – and justice-interfering – business.

The ‘Section 14’ ban notice states that the banging of pots might ‘seriously disrupt’ the activities of an ‘organisation… in the vicinity’ and might also distress those poor souls whose ears are too sensitive:

Some curmudgeons might, of course, point out that the banging of pots and pans is nowhere near as disruptive to life as the sound of Israeli murder drones is to the life of the people of Gaza, but it appears that the sensibilities and activities of at least some of the residents of Kensington must not be inconvenienced.

The Met also banned the use of microphones and speakers for anything other than speeches – no leading chants against war crimes, then – and informed the worried public afterward that it had prevented the serious offence of people ‘walking off’ after the protest ended:

The ban prompted Irish comedian and anti-genocide activist Tadgh Hickey to ponder whether pots and pans might soon be proscribed, or banned as terrorist, a similar fate to that suffered by direct action group ‘Palestine Action’.

  1. The Section 14 graphic appears to have been put in place in regard to criteria c, d & e.

It will be interesting to hear the rationale if ever criteria f is applied in this context.

A charge of “Intimidating” someone to stop aiding, abetting and supporting mass murder – i.e. “compelling them not to do an act they have aright to do” would be an bizarre argument to hear in court.

  2. Best thing to do is for protestors to tie a green ribbon around their mouths to stay mum. warning, not on your forehead, a certain 14 year stretch.

  3. WARNING Anyone who has seen any pot’s and pan Terrorists please phone the POLICE Immediately

  4. Please at these demos don’t play an old classic by Bill Haley & The Comets “Get out of that kitchen and rattle your pots and pans.”
Music is perhaps dangerous to the dehumanised.
By the way apparently as some have just posted on other sites an Israeli company ZetCity has just been given a contract by the Labour Govt (aiding the Israel Illegal Occupation Force’s struggling economy to counter BDS?) and some say it harvests via AI our personal data?
Keep an eye on this, sounds sinister?

  5. Sorry above name wrong for Israeli company but apparently according to Middle East Eye have signed £2.7b contact with Elbit?

    1. So theey are wasting our money on those alien entities so clearly continuing with warfare, genocide and starvation of a people who have suffered and suffer continuous oppression, targeting, starvation and injustice at the hands of those entities.
There is no reason to support them nasty entities. Are they not already bankrolled by that tangoed geriatric bloke on a different tectonic plate?

  6. Thanks Dave & Damo nails it.
The UK Lab Govt Cabinet and previous Tory Cabinet in my view are all guilty on 4 counts of Complicity with Genocide in Gaza.
    1. Selling Israel arms.
    2. Using spy planes for them.
    3. Allowing Israeli companies to produce arms parts & other military involvement like the example given above in the UK.
    4. And trading with a Genocide Perpetrator.
    Labour & Tories proscribe Thyself.
