Palestine-based journalist Cook subjected to sinister UK police tail and stop

‘Keir Starmer says hello’ – how readers view apparent attempt at intimidation

British Nazareth-based journalist Jonathan Cook, a tireless reporter on Israel’s crimes and politics, has been subjected to a sinister police ‘tail and stop’ while in the UK to visit relatives. Cook reported:

Can anyone help explain what was going on here.

Today I was driving near High Wycombe. A Thames Valley police car was behind me for a minute or so. As I came to a complicated set of mini-roundabouts, it turned on its blue lights and set off its siren, forcing me to pull over in a dangerous section of road between the roundabouts.

A policeman came over, bent down by the window and asked in the chummiest of tones: “Are you having a good day?” I said I was until he showed up.

He asked if my name was Jonathan Cook. He then asked what I was doing here. I responded that I was visiting family. Was that a problem?

He answered that it was routine to make checks on what he called “cross-border activity”. When I asked him what he meant by “cross-border activity”, he said the car was registered to an address in Bristol, and that was a two and a half hour drive away – it’s not, it’s 1 hour 45 minutes away. He added that it was a long way to come.

I must have looked slightly stunned. He told me not to worry, wished me well and – with a smile – said I could continue on my way. Have others had a similar experience? Is it now normal to be stopped in the UK simply because you’re driving more than 90 minutes from home?

After more than a year of the Starmer police state arresting, harassing, seizing the electronics of, financially attacking and in some cases charging anti-genocide journalists and activists, many of them Jewish, Cook’s readers had one view of the incident, all along the lines of the examples below:

Israel is a terror state engaged in genocide, aided and abetted in Gaza by the Starmer regime, even when it is killing UK aid workers – which has turned the UK into a police state to protect Israel from scrutiny and UK collusion from challenge.

  1. When stopped, ALWAYS get:

    Name.
    Collar number.
    Station.
    Reason for approach.

And wherever possible, ALWAYS video record the encounter.

  2. NEVER EVER trust what a policeman tells you. That advice comes from my dad. He was a policeman…..

    1. Also applies to everything a plod ASKS you.

      …And NEVER ‘volunteer’ information. That’s a MASSIVE no-no.

You might think they cant hang you if you only a give them a piece of string …but trust me – they’ll turn it into a rope.

  3. Well, you learn something every day. Never realised there was ‘border control’ between English Counties. Starmer’s police state reaching new heights of ridiculousness.

I guess no surprise Jonathan Cook – a journalist actually worth the name – is on their ‘watch list’.

    1. A ‘police state’ UK wouldn’t need county-level border controls to manage its people – they’ve got on-line surveillance for that!

  4. Meanwhile, Baldrick reveals another cunning plan………

“Ukraine will promise to buy $100bn of American weapons financed by Europe in a bid to obtain US guarantees for its security after a peace settlement with Russia, according to a document seen by the Financial Times.”

“The plan is for the US to sell weapons to the Europeans, who will then provide them to Kiev. However, the US doesn’t have the weapons to sell, the Europeans don’t have the money to buy, and Kiev doesn’t have the soldiers to use them. Other than that it’s a foolproof plan.”

The only item missing from the above “However” is that as a result of the TINA doctrine which has substituted an industrial economy for a predatory parasitic rent-seeking financier economy which produces nothing of value, neither the USA, never mind Europe, have the industrial capacity or the technical know how, expertise and experience to produce anything other than Public Relations bullshit.
