Lammy sulks under scrutiny and exposes the utter lack of meaningful action or even any real attempt
David Lammy looked sullen under even basic journalistic scrutiny yesterday on the issue of Gaza, Israel’s genocide and the government’s refusal to take meaningful action.
Asked by ITV’s Shehab Khan who had said Israel’s constant forced displacement of the Palestinians of Gaza was a “violation of international law”, Lammy was unable or declined to answer – he had said it in Parliament just a day earlier. Asked who had said Gaza will be completely destroyed and the Palestinian people forced out, he did the same.
The rest was no better – when Lammy finally said anything responsive, he wittered about a few personal sanctions on a couple of Israeli ministers (designed, according to government sources to not actually affect anything) and tried to deflect by saying there are “no free trade discussions” taking place with Israel (‘free trade’ maybe, but trade still happens freely, especially weapons and weapons components).
He claimed that “The war must end” – it’s a genocide, not a war – falling back on the politician’s favourite lie that “I’m very clear about that”. And he tried to shore that up by pointing out that the UK had joined a couple of dozen other governments in saying that.
He left out that just an hour after that declaration, the UK sent another RAF spy flight to spend hours over Gaza providing surveillance to the rogue and terror state:
The UK government is run by sullen thugs who squirm and weasel under scrutiny and assist Israel in every way they can while child after child, civilian after civilian, hundreds every die, die under the bombs and starvation blockade of the supremacist colonisers illegally occupying them.

Thank you for the link. I think Lammy needs to think about his blood pressure, whoever the interviewer was certainly got him rattled. What an utter disgrace he is.
The ignorance (some of it wilful no doubt) shown in some of the comments BTL regarding the Gazan footage on the video is pretty anger making as well.
Let’s be brutally honest. Lammy is as thick as an elephant sandwich. Now I can forgive ANYONE for being thick, it’s in their genes and they have no choice in the matter. But in the entirety of the UK, there’s only (currently) one utterly thick person appointed to being the Foreign Secretary. Presumably Starmer knew he would pose no threat to the Starmeroid operation.
Winteringham, have you ever met Lammy? Have a conversation with him? I had it in the past and I will not describe him as “thick”. On the contrary, he came across as rather intelligent.
Lammy reminds me of a great aunt born on the late 19thC that stated when I was still a young child that “men often don’t appreciate how cleaver a woman needs to be to appear stupid” This applies to Lammy, rather than thick, Lammy is the ultimate weasel.
Starmer appointed Lammy in the understanding that Lammy will be willing to appear “thick” but, carry on with the programme of protecting Israel to the heel, no matter what.
The fact that Lammy is black and willing to play the racial card” see me, see my colour” also helps as it is very difficult to see Lammy as a racist and white supremacist, when speaking the line ” Israel has the right to defend itself”

Sorry, but having watched and listened to him, I think he’s VERY dimwitted. I don’t know in what circumstances you talked to him, nor what about, but I’ve seen many people who at first sight appear “intelligent.” I have been in a room with over 100 other Headteachers, the purpose being to instruct us all on the forthcoming THIRD national curriculum, the first two having been total failures to the point of idiocy. It was led by the local Chief Inspector, revelling in her own self-importance as she had the Big Job to disseminate the “secrets” that were to be put to us by order from “Above.” Never one to hold back, I stood up and reminded her that she had given the same “This is how and what you will be teaching until you retire” BS. I had my say. I had no thought what anyone else in the room thought (though I did get an ovation as clearly they THOUGHT the same), that was up to them, but shortly after, there was a break for coffee, during which time many, including those who ran schools far larger than mine, said, “Why don’t you say …….” To which my reply was “I know what I will say, if you want something said, then do it yourself!” Sadly we have an entire cabinet that simply sits and accepts whatever BS they are told by Starmer/McSweeney. If our politicos haven’t the gonads to stand up and give a riposte to BS, then they are not worthy of the job/pay/expenses/gifts and need to go. After his ridiculous nonsense over Gaza, I’d like Lammy be the first to walk the proverbial plank and take his Lord and Master with him.
Dave, thanks, that was an excellent little profile of Bonhoeffer and his amazingly insightful theory. I must admit my knowledge of the guy was limited to him being a pastor, his famous poem and his execution just before the end of the war.

Chatting with my local newsagent this morning, she told me that the Mail and Express were – to put it mildly – not her favourites, but she said ” I didn’t expect the Express to put this on the front page”.
