Thousands of Israeli Jews and Arabs are marching together to demand an immediate end to Israel’s starvation blockade on Gaza that is starving 1.8 million civilians to death and hitting children the hardest:
The march comes as hundreds of Israeli youth are refusing their call-up papers to join the occupation military in Gaza, preferring jail to participation in genocide – and on the same day as one of Israel’s worst massacres so far of desperate refugees seeking food, as human rights group Euro-Med Monitor pointed out:
But those with a conscience are still a tiny minority. Polling in Israel suggests more than eighty percent of Israelis are either on board with the regime’s crimes in Gaza or want their government to go harder on all Palestinians, including the murders, torture and starvation.
The Israeli regime has said retrieving Israeli captives in Gaza is secondary to achieving the ethnic cleansing of the territory – unequivocally a crime under international law. Israel holds at least ten thousand hostages where they face daily torture, rape and sexual torture that leaves them a physical and psychological wreck if they are lucky enough to emerge alive – a stark contrast to the healthy condition of Israelis, including soldiers, released from Gaza.

Just spotted this on the Guardian’s website, and the fact it was posted at 9.00am this morning implies that the article was also published in the actual newspaper:
I’m witnessing the deliberate starvation of Gaza’s children – why is the world letting it happen?
I’m writing this from Nasser hospital in southern Gaza, where I’ve just finished operating on another severely malnourished young teenager. A seven-month-old baby lies in our paediatric intensive care unit, so tiny and malnourished that I initially mistook her for a newborn. The phrase “skin and bones” doesn’t do justice to the way her body has been ravaged. She is literally wasting away before our eyes and, despite our best efforts, we are powerless to save her. We are witnessing deliberate starvation in Gaza right now.
This is my third time in Gaza since December 2023 as a volunteer surgeon with Medical Aid for Palestinians. I experienced mass casualty events and raised the alarm about malnutrition back in January 2024. But nothing has prepared me for the sheer horror I’m witnessing now: the weaponisation of starvation against an entire population…..

Very, very brave man, knowing he’ll be targeted.
Can someone explain to me what goes through (what passes for) the mind of people such as Netanyahu in ordering these atrocities, through the minds of soldiers committing these atrocities, and Starmer, saying the words, but acting counter to those words? Because I’m damned if I know how inhuman you must be to do any of those three things.
I was literally just checking out Jung and archetypes just now, and that led to me wondering if he ever wrote anything about psychopaths (he didn’t, directly, but he wrote quite a bit about Evil), and the following article came up in the results when I did a search – ie a summary of pathocracy, which you are no doubt familiar with:
Pathocracy
When people with personality disorders gain power.
Lobaczewski devoted his life to studying human evil, a field which he called “ponerology.” He wanted to understand why ‘evil’ people seem to prosper, while so many good and moral people struggle to succeed. He wanted to understand why people with psychological disorders so easily rise to positions of power and take over the governments of countries. Since he was living under a “pathocratic” regime himself, he took great risks studying this topic. He was arrested and tortured by the Polish authorities, and was unable to publish his life’s work, the book Political Ponerology, until he escaped to the United States during the 1980s.
Pathocracy is arguably one of the biggest problems in the history of the human race. History has been a saga of constant conflict and brutality, with groups of people fighting against one another over territory and power and possessions, and conquering and killing one another….

Like most people, I only thought in terms of murderers and mass murderers and violent rapists being psychopaths for many, many years, and it was only about twelve years ago that I woke up to the fact that the people who run and control the planet are psychopaths, and have been for thousands of years, and that is why our reality – and our history – is what it is. And ever since then it has intrigued me how such a phenomena arose in the human species, and it still does. That said, I have for quite a long time thought in terms of if there is matter and antimatter, then psychopaths are the equivalent of antimatter and, as such, anti-human. Prior to that, and for many years, I regarded them as fascists, which they undoubtedly are of course (later on I got to know a guy who referred to them as the Cosmic Mafia and, as such adopted the term myself).
The sad thing is that it’s hard to envisage a future in which we are ever free of them, and are able to create and cultivate and live in a world at peace with itself, and in harmony with each-other and the natural world and the planet that sustains us, until the end of time.
That said, I am still one of Lennon’s dreamers (it only occured to me a few years ago that Imagine is indirectly about the psychopaths).
This song by Ana Christensen (from her 1990 album Brave New World) is very poignant:
Turn Things Around
And…. The return of hostages.
Im sorry but this is their ONLY goal.
I’m not sure it is Jill. The hostages give cover for their atrocities (they think). IT works on the political level as EVERY time the atrocities are mentioned OUR politicians give it out (and Oct 7th) as the reason for such inhumanity. The 10,000 Palestinians who are equally hostages, the Bedouins of the West Bank who are murdered, dispossessed, and severely maltreated, rarely get a mention because of course that would show unequivocally where the real blame lies. IT has been said many times, that should a peace deal be reached, Netanyahu would be back to his trial, and in all probability in prison. And |”we” can’t allow justice to be done, can we?
