“Israel are war criminals, the BBC editor’s gonna have some job” – Kneecap rule Glastonbury for Gaza

Video: Irish rap band and fans shout “Free Palestine” at music festival – but cowardly BBC cuts feed

Irish rap band Kneecap performed at Glastonbury today and had some words for the BBC and Israel supporters who collude to whitewash Israel’s genocide:

The band is clearly uncowed despite the Starmer regime’s persecution and prosecution of one of its members for defying the Israel lobby’s attempts to silence those who speak and act against its crimes in Gaza. But the cowards and genocide-enablers at the BBC had cut away from their live stream of the acts when it was announced that Kneecap were about to start their performance.

Unsurprising from a broadcaster that still tries to prevent guests using the word ‘genocide’ about Israel’s genocide and endless war crimes in Gaza – but it means that those who don’t want to be friends of the racist, mass-murdering coloniser-state need to share clips diligently to ensure the BBC and those demanding its collusion in Israel’s atrocities don’t get their way.

  1. According to the BBC (and therefore a lie) Tehran has loads of damage and they restrict journalists, as opposed to Tel Aviv which is undamaged (unless you view Israeli video from there) and they don’t restrict journalists … they just kill them, 200 and counting!

Now I could understand the BBC referring to Hull as “A northern town” during the WWII blitz, but these days they need to have just a little honesty about crimes against humanity. After the coverage of funerals in Tehran, the news from Gaza, where a whole load more Palestinians were killed by the war criminals …. was non-existent.

EVERY time the BBC or Guardian fail to be honest, a little more of their credibility is lost. And there’s precious little left!

  2. How can the BBC justify this ridiculous and totally unjustified censorship.

Do they really believe that people will suddenly embrace a genocidal colonial settler state just because the BBC cuts the Kneecap performance from their Glastonbury coverage?

This measure would be totally puerile were it not for the grave threat that it carries for what remains of our democratic liberties.

    1. The BBC takes itself too seriously, believing that most viewers and listeners trust it and see it as “Aunty” BBC. Reform’s Election Manifesto for the next GE will probably include cancelling the TV Licence Fee and it will get them many votes.

It’s like the BBC refusing to play the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen” as “a vicious attack on the monarchy”. Despite BBC’s best attempt at censorship the song got to No. 1 on the NME charts and No. 2 on the official UK Singles Chart, and the Sex Pistols’ reputation became stellar.

The BBC just takes itself too seriously. People increasingly trust it less and less.

      1. Some people contend that GSTQ got to No. 1 in the official charts, too, and that higher powers stepped in and fixed the outcome…

  3. Breaking News

Kneecap and Bob Vylan comments at Glastonbury investigated by police
Police are assessing videos of comments made by Bob Vylan and Kneecap at Glastonbury to decide whether any offences may have been committed.
In a post on social media, Avon and Somerset Police said: “We are aware of the comments made by acts on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury Festival this afternoon.
“Video evidence will be assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed that would require a criminal investigation

    1. Is there, perchance, any breaking news yet on whether plod have got around to assessing the public comments of the current occupant of house number 10 in Post Code SW1A 2AA in regard to the right to starve and cut off utility services to civilians – which include children?

Or, for that matter, whether the boys in blue are any nearer carrying out their duties under International Law by investigating and questioning the same occupant’s active complicity – along with his cronies – against the Articles of the Rome Statute, in aiding, abetting and supplying a malignant foreign power to commit Genocide?

Or don’t the Western media cover real crime any more?

      1. It’s looking like Netanyahu may get off in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza.

        Will Bibi be tempted?
        https://www.palestinechronicle.com/trump-tells-israel-to-drop-netanyahu-charges-seeks-gaza-ceasefire-deal/

US President Donald Trump has called on Israel to cancel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial or issue a pardon, while simultaneously pressuring the Israeli leader to agree to a long-term ceasefire deal with the Palestinian Resistance group Hamas……..

…… “Bibi Netanyahu’s trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State (of Israel),” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.

“It was the United States of America that saved Israel, and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu.”

      2. An interesting potential precedent under the “Rules Based International ~Order”.

        And the ICC Genocide case?

Will that also be ‘settled’ in this Malice in Blunderland Western approach on the basis of forgetting the systematic and deliberate mass murder of hundreds of thousands of civilians – men, women – children – on the basis of we will forget all about these crimes as long as you stop committing any more?

      3. That would be the ICC that’s clearly dragging its feet on the issue following the sanctions imposed on it by the current nominal head of a regime…….

        https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/imposing-sanctions-on-the-international-criminal-court/

……..which also has on its statute book a law entitling itself to invade The Hague if it dares to prosecute anyone from that regime for its many crimes against humanity. A statute which predates the current marionette in charge. Not forgetting, of course, also having a long record of assassinating/murdering and bombing back to the Stone Age anyone who refuses to grovel before it and kiss its backside.

Up to the ICC my arse.

      4. Dave – As I said above, ultimately that decision will rest with the ICC.

      5. In what way can it be argued, Billy, that any decision made under such duress ultimately rests with the body subject to such threats against it, its personnel and their families?

        We are all ears.

Go for it, if you think you are up to it.

  4. Hmmm…

One can’t help but think the influence of the biggest friend israel’s ever had – a certain j savile – still has a certain stranglehold over executive decisions…

  5. Disappointed they didn’t broadcast Kneecap. I’ll be checking i-player for it but not holding my breath.

Meanwhile, Neil Young’s done a U-turn and WILL now let his set go out live at 10.10pm, so that’s something…
