US, Qatar suffered no casualties as Iran exercised exemplary caution and allowed US personnel and equipment to evacuate
Iran gave the US and Qatar advance warning of its retaliatory airstrikes on a US base in Doha this evening, to ensure that the US could move aircraft and vulnerable equipment away from Qatar’s Al-Udeid base to other bases in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere before the attack – a show of caution and restraint beyond anything demonstrated by Israel or the US, both of which broke international law to attack Iran’s civilian nuclear facilities.
US planes moved away from the Qatar base at least three days ago – before the Iranian retaliation, suggesting that Iran had anticipated US action was imminent and already warned the US how it would respond. The Iranian government had moved its key people, equipment and radioactive materials away from the locations attacked by the US weeks before, resulting in the US raid’s failure – and US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has admitted he and his boss have no idea where they now are:
The transfer of US assets to Saudi Arabia suggests the US knew Saudi Arabia would not be the target of the retaliation, another indication of coordination with Iran. According to US media, Iran also provided advanced notice to the Qatari government to minimise casualties. The base normally hosts around ten thousand US troops and is the regional headquarters for US Central Command (CENTCOM).
Iran’s willingness to coordinate its retaliation also suggests that Tehran feels its position is strong, perhaps as a result of other countries offering to provide it with its own nuclear deterrent against Israeli and US aggression. Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, said on Sunday that several governments are willing to supply Iran with nuclear weapons in response to the US airstrikes.
Trump, exercising no restraint whatever, responded with a post on his inaptly named ‘Truth Social’ threatening nuclear-armed Russia with US nuclear subs:

President Trump claims a ceasefire between Israel and Iran has been agreed to
In a post on Truth Social, president Trump claims a 12-hr ceasefire between Israel and Iran has been reached. The ceasefire, he says, will begin in 6 hours.
He writes:
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!
Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.” This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! Iran have apparently confirmed that they have in fact agreed a ceasefire with Israel
AND now in another twist Iran is now denying that they have agreed to a ceasefire BUT providing the US and Israel stop hostilities then so will thay. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The choreography seems to be reasonably competent, up to a point. What’s next on the agenda from the Ministry of silly wars?
