Video: ‘new’ Iranian missile fired at Israel as Iran announces restriction of vital Hormuz oil tanker passage

After use of Fattah-1 Mach-13 hypersonic missile early this morning, apparent new weapon seen outgoing in skies over Tehran tonight

An apparently new type of ballistic – and presumably hypersonic – missile has been seen over Iran this evening heading toward Israel:

Iran confirmed that it used its Fattah-1 hypersonic missile, which travels at around thirteen times the speed of sound, against Israel in the mass bombardment of the early hours of this morning, so the ‘new’ missile is presumably a different and hitherto unused type of weapon.

Israel has reportedly begun commandeering the homes of innocent Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and stationing troops in them in the hope of escaping Iran’s bombardment. In al-Khalil, more than fifty residents, mostly children, were beaten and forcibly expelled during Iranian missile strikes, with troops then returning in the early hours to evict the families again before eventually leaving at dawn having ransacked the homes. Israeli capital Tel Aviv continues to be hit hard:

Iran has announced that for at least a hundred days starting from tomorrow (19 June), vessels carrying oil and liquid gas through the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz will only be allowed to pass with Iran’s permission. A statement relayed by a former minister said:

If this policy is implemented swiftly, it will be decisive. Delaying it means prolonging the war on our own soil. Trump’s war must be ended through combined economic and security pressure.

The twenty-one mile wide Strait of Hormuz is the world’s most crucial potential choke-point for oil and natural gas connecting the Persian Gulf to global markets. It carries 20% of the world’s daily oil and 25% of its liquid natural gas. Iran controls the whole northern coast of the strait and can impede or prevent the passage of ships. Iran has claimed that Pakistan has said it will deploy its own forces, including nuclear weapons if such weapons are used by Iran’s enemies, to support Iran in its fight against Israel and the US.

Israel has ordered a news blackout on Iran’s missile strikes, but many missiles are defeating Israel’s depleted anti-missile systems and large areas in Israel, particularly in Tel Aviv and in Haifa, have been destroyed. Despite its panic, the Israeli regime continues to slaughter starving Palestinians daily, including at so-called ‘aid stations’.

Update: Iran has said that the new missile is the ‘Sejjil’, a ballistic solid fuel missile capable of speeds five times that of sound and a range of around 1,500 miles.

  1. Given that Iran no longer has any effective air defences and that Israel more of less controls the skies above Iran it is difficult to see how Iran can win this.

      1. Indeed.

Ignoring the historical record of truth being the first casualty of war by amplifying a bullshit narrative such as this marks Billy boy as either a gullible and naive fool or a willing shill for the out of control death cult running the Collective Worst.

        As Simplicius points out………

        https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/iranian-abyss-will-us-take-the-plunge

…..even the Jerusalem Post: “Israel Running low on Arrow interceptors, US burning through its systems too”…..

…..echoing the Wall Street Journal: “Israel is running low on defensive interceptors, Offical says.”

….understands that, as Simplicius puts it:

The reality of “Israel not being equipped for long, drawn-out attritional warfare”.

With that JP article going on to say:

The Jerusalem Post article above confirms:

“Neither the US nor the Israelis can continue to sit and intercept missiles all day,” said Tom Karako, director of the Missile Defense Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “The Israelis and their friends need to move with all deliberate haste to do whatever needs to be done, because we cannot afford to sit and play catch.””

Moreover, (Simplicius again) on the matter of Israeli strikes on Iran….

“Israel’s own claims of establishing total ‘air superiority’ over Iran are fraudulent: Israeli planes are not flying over Iran—there is zero evidence to support this claim.

Israel has been utilizing a combination of drone strikes—for which there is a mountain of evidence. UCAV drones are less detectable and expendable, which allows Israel to push them towards Tehran while suffering losses to shoot downs that don’t affect their public standing.

Every single strike video released thus far from Israel shows footage from a UCAV or surveillance recon drone cam”…..

……And not a single video exists of any Israeli aircraft in Iranian airspace, but tons of video showing Israeli missile booster stages recovered in Syria and Iraq, indicating that Israel continues to fire missiles like the Blue Sparrow from outside Iran’s borders.

Other strike videos show the cam from the Delilah missile, which has a range of 250km+ and can reach many western Iranian sites even when fired outside the border.”

Moreover, Billy fails (again) to define his terms as to what “winning” means in this context as he clearly thinks this is all about WMD’s……….

      2. I like the bit where Simplicius says

“Trump’s ongoing treatment of the Iran saga has been utterly erratic, even psychotic. From demanding talks to sudden outbursts of ‘SURRENDER’ and “Evacuate Tehran Now!” it’s impossible to predict what the deranged head case will say or do next; the only thing that has become near-certain is Trump has been taken prisoner by some form of extremely compromising threats by his Israeli-linked handlers: there is very little else to explain his bafflingly unhinged behavior”.

Looks like Musk was correct about Trump being in the Epstein Files!

      3. ……..when in fact what is taking place are the opening salvos of a war on BRICS to stop the development of a multipolar world and designed to prevent the end of centuries of Western ethno-supremicist “Garden” hegemony over what the Western oligarch elites regard as the uncivilised untermenshen in the “Jungle” that is the non-West..

With the initial objective of imposing regime change in Iran and breaking it up into small and controllable ethnic statelets with Western Comprador leaders answerable to the Bankers in London and New York. An objective set out in the Brooking Institute paper from 2009 which Brian Berletic takes us through on the New Atlas blogsite.

Which mirrors the 2019 RAND report with the same aim for Russia and, as the New York Times headlined not long ago, also breaking up China.

In the present context Iran “wins” by surviving as a sovereign state.

As Simplicius, among a number of other observers, notes the timing of this Israeli US proxy aggression is instructive:

“Iran is now under the knife to be broken up only weeks after it launched a critical node of China’s New Silk Road, which bypasses the US-dominated sea, strait, and canal choke points:

Israel struck Iran right after the launch of a game-changing new rail link between Iran & China. It happens to pose an existential geoeconomic threat to the US & its allies.

The route bypasses US sanctions and would unlock Iran’s economy, allowing it to flourish like never before, with Iran likewise becoming a key Eurasian transport hub reaching all the way to Russia

Now, Khamenei’s “regime” is scheduled for dismantling because Iran poses too great a counterweight to the neocons’ imperialist dreams—and more importantly—their handlers’ Babylonian-messianic prophecies.

The self-proclaimed ‘crown prince’ of Iran even made his CIA-produced appeal for people to take to the streets and overthrow the ‘regime’ right on cue:”.

The bottom line is that reality does not give a FF what difficulties suckers and shills like Billy boy have in comprehending it.

      4. timfrom,

One theory I have encountered – albeit in BTL commentary – is that Trump has been subject to the process developed by the MKULTRA programme.

Though I’m more inclined to observe that any victim of that approach can be found closer to home lurking BTL on this site from time to time.

    1. SteveH ” .. it is difficult to see how Iran can win this…”

In the context of a war, “win” typically refers to achieving the objectives that were set at the beginning of the conflict.

Iran’s action’s are primarily retaliatory SteveH. It’s defending itself. I’d say it’s achieving its objectives.

  2. A couple of days ago I posted on here about the fact that Netanyahu has been spouting the falsehood that Iran is building a nuclear bomb time and time again during the past thirty years, and as I said in my post, I did a search to see if I could determine just exactly how many times he’d done so (and came across a Guardian article by Jonathan Freedland, which was mainly what I posted about). Anyway, the funny thing is (not haha) that I came across a couple of videos last night which just happen to include clips of BN spouting his B/S lie over the years, the first of which was this excellent DDN vid by Lowkey, posted fifteen hours ago (at the time of typing). It’s essential viewing and, as his vids always are, revelatory:

Why Trump REALLY Wants War with Iran
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NXjhVirT7I&t=603s (13mins 53secs)

And also this one by Novara Media, posted six hours ago (at the time of typing)

Mehdi Hasan Destroys Israel Narrative On Piers Morgan (see link below)

    1. Also came across this excellent vid by Owen Jones (posted thirteen hours ago), in which he mentions a number of occasions when Netanyahu has spouted his scaremongering B/S falsehood about Iran:

Iran: It’s The SAME BULLSH*T Again
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo-kTr_bz88 (13mins 13secs)

  3. Surely there is a mistake in this paragraph:
“Iran has announced that for at least a hundred days starting from tomorrow (19 June), vessels carrying oil and liquid gas through the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz will only be allowed to pass with Israel’s permission.”
I am guessing it should say “…with Iran’s permission.”

    1. This episode of regular updates……

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8OehKFRb5U

……throws more light on this matter.

Which, leaving aside the claim that one of the tankers involved in the collision in the Straits of Hormuz the other day was deliberately scuttled by Iranian and Russian Special forces using part of the so called RF ‘Shadow Fleet’ of tankers, suggests that one of the key objectives is to trap US warships in their bases in Bahrain.

Although another source I came across suggested that the Iranian Government may be planning on mining those Straits for the same purpose of trapping part of the US fleet in their bases.

      1. Impressive stuff and all in just over 15 mins! Just subscribed (God that’s another addition to the daily internet chores!). Cheers.

  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2kym1pvn4o

Millions more on benefits to get £150 off energy bills

Sound. And when iranians close off the strait of Hormuz that £150 off becomes £500 ON to bills.

And with it being for benefit claimants, the scapegoating will intensify; it’ll be the claimants’ fault.

    (un)Naturally,then they’ll see MORE cuts.

And as for this ‘Warm homes plan’ …What a crock of shit. that is.

I applied on behalf of me dad in December just gone. Wheb they came to assess the gaff, he was more or less promised internal wall insulation, was told it COULD also include (anything from) heat pump, new double glazing, radiators, loft insulation and extractor fans

Then he was told he wasn’t eligible for either (no reason given) and instead (in march) was given a few rolls of (wet) loft insulation, an extractor fan in both kitchen & bathroom, a few trickle vents for ao.e of the windows (not in ALL habitable rooms) and a new remote (wireless) thermostat for the boiler- which, when first fitted didn’t work, and when re-installed *by the lad who usually does them for the company), has left me dad without a reliable source of hot water.

Despite assurances they’ll rectify it, they haven’t even sent anyone around since.

He’s no better off now than he was before

All in all, out of a potential grant of (IIRC) £7500, they must’ve spent no more than £500. I wonder how much the government has been billed for…
