Video: pro-Israel demonstrator asked for evidence for anti-Muslim claim. “I’m going thru menopause”

‘Christian Zionist’ Tommy Robinson fan in tiny counter-demo vs 500k-strong London anti-genocide march smears Muslims, claims Zionist Jews are the main victims

No, it’s not a parody.

A ‘Christian Zionist’ ‘reverend’ who was helping to marshal a tiny counter-demonstration against the half-million protesters who flooded London’s streets yesterday demanding an end to Israel’s genocide and war crimes against civilians in Gaza put on a priceless show of the calibre of the apologists for mass murder when she was interviewed by Middle East Eye.

Reverend Hayley Ace claimed that 20% of Muslims worldwide are ‘radicals’, but when asked for evidence for that claim, she answered that she is ‘going through menopause’ and failed to provide any – and then not only mangled her maths by claiming that 20% of 2 billion Muslims is 220 million and not the 400 million that basic arithmetic would suggest, but that (pro-Israel) Jews are the ‘main target’ when Israel has slaughtered at least 200,000 Palestinians, overwhelmingly women and children.

And she went on to give a completely fictitious account of the ‘Nakba’ in which 800,000 Palestinians were violently driven from their homes and land, inventing ‘five Arab armies’ that were supposedly attacking the then-new colonial settlement:

‘Reverend’ Ace is not a stranger to Islamophobic comments. Two months ago she told her ‘friend’, Jerusalem’s deputy mayor Fleur Hassan – who notoriously responded to the murder by snipers of Christian Palestinian women in the grounds of a Gaza church and the bombing of Gaza churches by Israel, by claiming there were no Christians or churches in Gaza – that the pro-Palestine movement is ‘white privileged teenagers’ acting as a ‘Trojan horse for Islamism’, and denied that Israel is an apartheid state.

Hassan has also excused Israel’s apartheid legal system that drives Palestinians out of their homes in favour of illegal settlers by saying:

Of course there are laws that some people may consider as favouring Jews—it’s a Jewish state.

Ace went on to tell her that in London, “we see the Hamas flag, we see the ISIS flag” and claimed that the Met Police treat pro-Israel demonstrators more harshly than pro-Palestinian protesters – a nonsensical claim that flies in the face of all the massive video evidence showing police violently arresting peaceful anti-genocide marchers, many of them Jewish, and even setting them up for false arrest and charges, while coddling and even taking directions from tiny Zionist groups.

She went on to tell Hassan that the UK is “quite literally sacrificing our children” to Muslims and agreeing when Hassan responded that Britons would “rather be rapists than racists”.

The ‘reverend’ then claimed that the far-right racist – and Israel supporter – known as Tommy Robinson has been stitched up by a “smear campaign”, jailed “because he made a documentary” and that “his town was just a white working-class town and now there’s mosques everywhere” because of the “woke mind virus”.

And to put the icing on the cake, she then claimed that white people in the UK are about to be pushed into civil war because of incidents like the murder of three little girls in ‘Stockport’ (it was Southport) by an ‘Islamist’ (he was raised as a Christian) – a regurgitation of the lies spread by the UK far-right to incite and excuse racist riots.

Ace and her husband run Lea Valley Church in Essex, which they took over from its previous leaders (also called Ace) in 2020. The church lists support for Israel among its ‘values’ and says that anti-Zionism is cover for “unjust and prejudicial action and speech towards Israel” – yet claims to “respect individual boundaries of all people irrespective of age, culture or ethnicity.” There appears to be no mention of the existence of Palestinians, let alone Israel’s crimes against them.

The ‘Christian’, pro-Israel far-right is a disgrace to Christianity and to its Palestinian founder.

  1. She has a very, very irritating voice.

I was going to say that I felt sorry for her ‘congregation’ but then I thought about the sort of people that they must be to hold these vile views and changed my mind.

    1. She has a very, very irritating voice.

It’s what your writing would sound like…But without the menopause bit.

  2. You often get that with very, very stupid people. Take most of Starmer’s Cabinet, for example!

    1. Yes indeed.

Theives’and screeching’s voices are almost carbon copies of each other’s.

The way they stretch out the last syllable of words at the end of every sentence is piss-boilinnnnnng.

And both of ’em are as bleedin thick as the bint in the OP.

But I reckon weasly’s more menopausal.

      1. If memory serves ‘bint’ is derived from Arabic, just meaning girl or daughter but was used pejoratively against women back in the day. IMHO it is not a good word to use and definitely not the best choice to describe the appalling piece of work above. She would fit in very well with Trump’s ‘christian’ evangelists in the US. The most hypocritical b*****ds on earth.

      2. Your memory serves you well, and your description is quite accurate.

However, given the reverend’s prejudices and wilful untruths (added to fhe fact that the etymology of the word would go completely over ace’s empty head) I find it the exact pejorative to use.

There are, however, far more coarse adjectives I could use…

  3. From The People’s Assembly at Counterfire:

Austerity at home, genocide in Gaza: Two sides of Starmer’s deadly coin

This week, challenged in the High Court for continuing to supply the parts for F-35 fighter jets that Israel is using to carry out its deadly airstrikes in Gaza, lawyers on behalf of the government argued that maintaining the supply of F-35 fighter jets was more important than preventing genocide.

A recent report by the Palestinian Youth Movement exposed the fact that the Labour government has lied about suspending arms exports that could be used for offensive purposes in Gaza (apart from the F-35 parts of course). It also revealed that Labour has licenced more military equipment to Israel in October – December 2024, than the Tories did in 2020 – 2023 combined. In the last year alone, Britain has flown over 600 surveillance and reconnaissance flights over Gaza providing information to the Israeli military that is likely used in the targeting of Palestinian civilians.

There can be no doubt that Keir Starmer and David Lammy are active participants in Israel’s genocide. But what should also be made clear is that it is ordinary British people that are paying the price for this deadly foreign policy.

The cost of those surveillance flights runs in the tens of millions. The F-35 spare part supply chain that the government believes is sacred is produced by BAE Systems which is contracted by the British government with public money Last year, BAE Systems made £3bn in profit, and it’s CEO Charles Woodburn boasted that they were “well positioned to capture additional defence spending”. No surprises then when Keir Starmer announced an additional £13bn in defence spending in February, the company’s stock jumped 4.4%.

The increase of £13bn in defence spending, to 2.7% of GDP and plans to raise it to 3%, is being directly funded by cuts to the foreign aid budget and Personal Independence Payments for disabled people. This extra money is readily available to fund weapons of mass destruction but couldn’t avoid the cuts to winter fuel allowance for the elderly, scrap the two-child benefit cap that has pushed 1 in 3 children into poverty, or fund our NHS and education sector which are crumbling.

How else can this be seen except a robbery of working-class people and our vital public services in order to line the pockets of arms dealers responsible for facilitating genocide? This is Starmer’s war abroad funded by war on working people at home. They are two sides of the same coin.
