BBC removes claim BOD president met genocidal Israeli foreign minister in Israel, not London

Broadcaster’s attempts to whitewash Sa’ar’s secret meeting with David Lammy and Zionist lobby amended after London visit exposed by independent media

The BBC has quietly removed its claim that Israeli foreign minister Gideon Sa’ar met Phil Rosenberg, the president of UK Zionist lobby group the Board of Deputies, in Israel this week, rather than in London, where Sa’ar had flown in unannounced for a secret meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy while Israel was burning children and other civilians in tents. The BBC’s amendment to say Rosenberg met Sa’ar in London and its correction note at the end of the article appear to be the only mentions of the visit across the BBC’s website and news broadcasts.

Human rights groups had discovered the visit and applied for a warrant for Sa’ar’s arrest on genocide charges, including for his call to starve the people of Gaza, but the application was blocked by the Starmer government and the BBC had failed to report on the move or on the Lammy meeting, making its claim that Rosenberg met Sa’ar in Israel look like part of a misinformation campaign to cover up the facts.

Mr Rosenberg also visited Israel on Thursday, where he met Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar.

The BBC’s initial reporting.

Sa’ar spent several days in the UK, not only untroubled but welcomed, if in attempted secrecy, by the government.

In the month since Israel collapsed its never-honoured ceasefire in Gaza completely, the occupation is estimated to have murdered thousands of civilians, including around a hundred children every day, with many more maimed and disfigured in the bombing of tents, shelters, food queues and markets. In dozens of the attacks since 18 March, the only victims were children.

The estimated death toll since the start of the genocide is well over two hundred thousand people, overwhelmingly women and children, while two million more are being starved under the blockade that Sa’ar advocated. Both the Starmer government, which is providing military support to Israel every day over Gaza, and the UK media are colluding in genocide and in the attempt to hide the brutal truth from the eyes of the British people.

  1. Another nail in the coffin of the BBC, other MSM and the Starmer government.
