As Skwawkbox covered overnight, Israel bombed the Al Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza twice last night. The hospital was also the first that Israel bombed during its eighteen-month genocide, in October 2023. The regime denied the bombing but was exposed by the evidence – these days Israel boasts of its destruction of Gaza’s health and emergency facilities.

But the bombing was not the full story: Israel gave the hospital only five minutes to evacuate before the first missile hit, leading to panic among the wounded and refugees taking shelter in the hospital’s grounds. At least one child died during the evacuation:

The Al Ahli was the only facility in northern Gaza with a CT scanner in the north of Gaza, allowing doctors to assess the injuries of survivors of Israel’s bombs, missiles, drones and shooting. The occupation also attacked the emergency department, pharmacy, lab and all the hospital’s oxygen tanks:

The attack was the second in less than three weeks to target outspoken US volunteer surgeons, who have detailed and condemned Israel’s crimes, as they operated on the wounded, as one of the volunteers pointed out:

Keir Starmer still refuses to admit that Israel is committing genocide and has said even of the complete starvation blockade of Gaza only that it ‘risks’ breaching international law. UK armed forces are assisting in Israel’s bombing of Gaza.
