Video: BBC whitewashes HTS slaughter of minorites as its opponents ‘trying to destabilise’ Syria

Execution of hundreds of Alawites and Christians, and public torture of others, portrayed as minority groups trying to cause trouble for terrorist regime

The BBC has finally covered the widespread slaughter of minorities by the new HTS-al Qaeda regime this morning – but presented it as ‘remnants’ of the Assad regime ‘trying hard to destabilise the situation inside Syria’. Hundreds and perhaps thousands of Christians and Alawites have been publicly executed, with others beaten, tortured and humiliated – a fact that has been reported by some western media outside the UK, but barely touched on in the BBC’s coverage.

Syria’s new president, who leads the formerly Israel-backed terrorist group HTS and was formerly linked to ISIS – but whose the UK establishment is trying to rehabilitate – was presented as having to ‘face the challenges’ of having ‘jihadists’ and ‘foreign fighters’, code for ISIS and other terror groups, in order to protect Syria from ‘any [rebels]… who conducted any attack against civilians’, which he is described as refusing to ‘tolerate’:

The contrast in coverage by, for example, France24 could hardly be more stark:
