Texas congressman Al Green has begun impeachment proceedings against ‘fascist’ Donald Trump, not even three weeks into Trump’s second term as US president – in which he has spoken of the US taking over Gaza as a beachfront development, waged war on legal immigrants to the US, imposed tariffs on China, threatened Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, the EU, UK and others with tariffs, threatened to invade and annex Canada and Greenland and allowed far-right oligarch Elon Musk to seize the private information of tens of millions of US citizens.
In a statement about the impeachment bid, Occupy Democrats said:
Donald Trump’s presidential “honeymoon” screeches to a halt as a Democratic Congressman announces plans to impeach him over his illegal plans to conquer Gaza.
This is nightmare news for MAGA…
“The movement to impeach the president has begun,” said Representative Al Green on the House floor. “I rise to announce that I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.”
“Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America,” he stated.
“I know that it’s time for us to lay the foundation [for impeachment] again. On some issues, it is better to stand alone than not stand at all,” said Green. “On this issue, I stand alone, but I stand for justice.”
“The people have to demand it, and when the people demand it, it will be done,” he added.
Of course, the impeachment is unlikely to succeed so long as MAGA Republicans control the House and Senate but this is a crucial step nonetheless. We cannot allow Trump’s fascism to go unchallenged.
His announcement that the United States is going to “take over” Gaza and “own” it is blatantly illegal and in direct opposition to America’s best interests.
“Ethnic cleansing is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the president of the United States, the most powerful person in the world, when he has the ability to perfect what he says, ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke, and the prime minister of Israel should be ashamed knowing the history of his people,” said Green.
The idea is even proving unpopular with his MAGA base, who see the imperialist scheme as a betrayal of their “America First” mantra. Trump’s presidency is already teetering.
The bid is unlikely to succeed at the first time of asking, but may be a first step toward a future removal of the small-handed orange one. But the even bigger question is whether anyone better would conceivably replace him, either among the extremist MAGA fanatics currently running the White House or the equally fanatically pro-Israel Democrats and their hunger for war and regime-change in Ukraine, Syria, Iran and elsewhere.

I think Trump is on to something here, but maybe his ideas just need a little tweaking. The Gazans voluntarily move out of Gaza … and go back to the homes and land from which they were forcibly removed in 1948, taking ownership of any and all buildings that have been placed on THEIR land. If Gazans wish to sell their land in Gaza to anyone, including Trump they can do so as long as their original land is given back to them.
The issue is trust. Do you really trust a criminal, liar and convicted sex abuser to keep his word and what about his friends like Bibi they will keep to the deal? Get real as soon as they are removed lets call it what it is Ethnic cleansing and I think the ICJ might have a thing or two to say about that. Then as soon as there gone they will NEVER be allowed to return.
The land WILL be stolen and given to scumbags? Now OK say that happens where exactly do the Palestinians go? Now what do you think the surrounding countries will do. Especially the ones already invaded by Israel. Seeing this possibly happen and expecting it to be done to them? They are hardly going to just go along with this are they?

Impeachment would be a good thing but for now is sadly wishful thinking especially as Republicans run the House & Senate, latter saved Trump’s butt last time.
77.3m Americans voted for Trump, 75m voted against & an estimated 5m abstained or didn’t vote Democrat because of Biden’s actions over Gaza.
And these 77m (though wealthy traditional Republicans voted for him just for the tax cuts) seem to want to tell the 8.025b (2023) people on the planet what to do.
The USA also has 750 military bases in 80 countries around the world though Al Jazeera says it may be more “As not all data is published by the Pentagon.”
The USA no doubt will say these are there to protect democracy & freedom but critical thinkers suggest that they are really there to protect capitalism and Profits.
But as many might feel powerless there is some good news from the FT (7/2/25) in its piece “Musk political interference hits Tesla sales across Europe.”
According to the FT sales of Tesla electric vehicles have fallen sharply in many key European markets amid a consumer backlash against Elon Musk’s interventions in the region’s politics:
Sales in Germany – down 59.5%
Sales in France – down 63%
Sales in Norway – down 38%
Sales in UK – down 8%.
And according to the FT a German entrepreneur’s car stickers are flying of the shelves, they read: “I bought this before Elon went crazy.”
Capital don’t like it when you hit it in the pocket!
