Video: Palestinians in Jenin ‘endure impossible’ as Israel sets off massive detonations across camp

UN relief agency says refugee camp ‘rendered a ghost town’

United Nations relief agency for Palestinians UNRWA said yesterday that the residents of the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank have “endured the impossible”, as Israel wages war on the camp to please its extremist settlers and their supporters after the supposed ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza. Occupation forces detonated huge areas of the camp simultaneously yesterday:

Israel published its own footage of its war crime.

In a statement, UNRWA said:

In a split second yesterday, large swathes of Jenin camp were completely destroyed in a series of controlled detonations by the Israeli Security Forces.

Residents of the camp have endured the impossible, facing nearly two months of unceasing and escalating violence. In the last months, Jenin camp has been rendered a ghost town.

Israel has murdered dozens of Palestinians in Jenin and Tulkarem, including children, and wounded many more in the last two weeks in an ongoing assault Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu promised extremist finance minister Bezalel Smotrich to persuade Smotrich not to quit his government role over the Gaza deal. Thousands of civilians have been forced out of Jenin by the onslaught.

UNRWA said that its services inside the Jenin camp stopped in early December after months of disruption and warned that:

Today’s shocking scenes in the West Bank undermine the fragile ceasefire reached in Gaza, and risk a new escalation.

Despite the supposed ceasefire in Gaza, Israel continues to bomb women and children and has killed over a hundred in successive breaches, adding to the more than 200,000 people it has killed so far during its genocide there – and over 900 in the West Bank during the same period.

UK PM Keir Starmer remains silent about Israel’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and daily ceasefire breaches – and about Israel’s forced closure of all of UNRWA’s operations in Gaza this week.
