Occupation slaughters and wounds civilians and medics, blocks medical access to wounded, in so-called ‘Operation Iron Wall’
With the already repeatedly breached ceasefire in Gaza only two days old, Israel has transferred its genocide to the occupied West Bank, invading the Palestinian territory and shooting civilians, including doctors and nurses. At least 9 people have been killed and 98 wounded in just a few hours.
Medics who were lucky enough not to be shot have been blocked at the mushrooming number of checkpoints around the West Bank and have been prevented from reaching wounded colleagues and civilians, as the Health Workers 4 Palestine group noted:
As the world has seen so often in Gaza, occupation forces have specifically targeted ambulances and the paramedics who staff and drive them:
As doctor and Palestinian MP Mustafa Barghouti announced, the army blockaded many Palestinian areas and provided cover for the murderous attacks of far-right Israeli settlers on innocent Palestinians:
Footage captured by local TV crews showed an unarmed Palestinian man shot and bleeding on the floor as an Israeli armoured vehicle prevented paramedics from treating him:
Occupation helicopters fired on Jenin City and its refugee camp, civilian cars were attacked and Palestinian civilians lay dead and wounded on the ground man’s body lay on the ground in the aftermath of Israeli attacks:
Armoured bulldozers moved into Jenin to level buildings and to destroy buildings and road surfaces around the government hospital in Jenin, making it difficult for the wounded to reach medical help even if their ambulances were not blocked or destroyed:
The beginning of genocide in the West Bank came as newly-inaugurated US president Donald Trump said he didn’t expect the ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza to hold – confirming reports that he has greenlit Benjamin Netanyahu to resume his war on Palestinian civilians whenever he wishes.
Israel is a terror state armed, backed and enabled by the US and its western accomplices.

This is as ugly as I expected from Israel – they’ve only been told to stop bombing and murdering in Gaza, which as far as they are concerned means it’s still ‘Open Season’ in the West Bank.
Not sure what difference this will make to the continued slaughter of Palestinians on the ground, but I read this morning on an article dated yesterday that Halevi (head of IDF) has resigned and is leaving on 6th March, and the head of the IDF Southern Command, Finkelman is also resigning. They both cite their reason as their ‘failures’ in relation to 7th Oct 2023. Yair Lapid is calling for Netanyahu to follow suit … but that won’t be happening I doubt.
