Ben-Gvir, 2 other extremist ministers quit for show over ‘ceasefire’ – but ‘won’t topple Netanyahu’

Far-right ‘Jewish Power’ figures make show of quitting but will leave wanted war-criminal in place

Far-right fanatic Itamar Ben-Gvir

Itamar Ben-Gvir and two other members of the racist ‘Jewish Power’ party have resigned from Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition government over the agreement of a ‘ceasefire’ in Israel’s genocide in Gaza – but it appears to be primarily theatre.

Ben-Gvir, who has called openly for the complete ethnic cleansing of Gaza, boasted that Israel will never allow the Palestinians a state, called for Palestinian hostages to be summarily shot in the head, praised settlers who murdered Palestinians as ‘heroes’ and brandishes weapons in public, quit as security minister – but said he and his colleagues will not try to bring down the coalition government of Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Yitzhak Wasserlauf, who was in charge of development in the Negev and Galilee and called for Palestinians to be shot for any act of resistance, and homophobic heritage minister Amichai Eliyahu, who called Palestinians ‘monsters’ and called for a nuclear attack on Gaza to be an option, also resigned.

Israel repeatedly violated the supposed ceasefire agreement in its earliest hours this morning, on a pretext that Hamas had not provided information that was scheduled for phase two of the ceasefire.

  1. I am sure, nay positive, the media will cover the return of Palestinian hostages to the same degree that they are covering the return of the Israeli hostages. I am so looking forward to the life-stories of the Palestinians, in the same way – where and why they were captured, what happened to the rest of their family, how they were treated by their captors, whether their health has suffered. It will be so good for the BBC and the Guardian to explain how great the Israelis have been to those they captured. and their reasons for doing so.

I am, of course, being sarcastic. It won’t ever happen. It never does.

  2. Palestinians and Arabs are not the only ones for whom these fanatics and their Western sponsors have in the sights of their agenda.

As noted here, these sociopaths cannot abide the continued existence of anyone who has a different opinion to themselves. If they are allowed to finish off the inhabitants of what they consider to be the “Jungle” they will most certainly get round to anyone who thinks differently from themselves amongst the populace of the “Garden”:

“Since 2022, Israel has become a fully-fledged fascist regime, the most ultra-right government in the history of the colonialist project, which carries out the agenda of the settlers. These settlers are dangerous terrorists and, like ISIS (Daesh), use religion, racism and murder as weapons against all other beliefs and opinions.”

  3. Those first three Israeli hostages look in remarkably good condition seeing as they have been held in a warzone under daily attack. Now to see the Palestinian hostages…..
