Israeli accused of war crimes ‘smuggled out’ of Brazil – but justice pursues him to Argentina

Yuval Vagdani’s holiday comes to ignominious end as Israel again arranges flight from justice – so his accusers file case in Argentina

Israel has again helped an accused war criminal escape justice by fleeing from national authorities at a holiday destination – but he is not off the hook yet.

Yuval Vagdani, an occupation soldier accused of participating in Israel’s genocide in Gaza and who posted pictures of himself and videos of his destruction of Palestinian civilian property, has been smuggled out of Brazil where he was on holiday. A Brazilian judge had issued an order to police to detain and investigate Vagdani after an appllcation by the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), which is named after the 6yo little girl murdered, along with her family and two paramedics, by the crew of an Israeli tank.

The HRF, which had submitted a comprehensive file of evidence to the Brazilian court including video footage, images and geolocation data, posted what it says was video of some of Vagdani’s actions to its X account:

After Yuval Vagdani’s escape from Brazil to Argentina, the Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a legal case in Argentina against the war crimes suspect. This move reinforces our commitment to ending impunity and holding perpetrators accountable. Justice will prevail, no matter where they hide.

Israel has helped several of its soldiers flee from holiday destinations where they were accused of participating in Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, which has killed more than two hundred thousand people so far, overwhelmingly civilians and mostly women and children.
