Israeli MP who slammed regime’s inhumanity against Palestinians targeted by Israeli state

Israeli lawmaker and Reform rabbi Gilad Kariv has been placed under formal investigation by Israel’s government after a withering speech exposing the murderous sickness at the heart of Israel’s politics:

Shortly afterwards Kariv, who was under attack from Israel’s ultra-nationalist right as far back as 2021, was targeted by the state and accused of leaking a classified document. The State Attorney’s Office confirmed yesterday that it had opened an investigation into Kariv for supposedly leaking a document from Israel’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, believed to be a report exposing the extent of collaboration between a UK pro-Israel legal advocacy group and the Israeli government in efforts to neutralise the work of human rights organisations including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International.

Kariv was also among protesters against the Netanyahu regime and its actions who were attacked today by Israeli police and troops:
