Video: Jerusalem’s Orthodox priest’s xmas message: ‘If I must fight to defend women and children, I’ll fight’

Clergyman Father Antonios Hananya of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem has broadcast a searing Christmas message, declaring that he will fight against Israel if needed to protect innocent civilians and his Muslim brothers, as both a priest and a freedom fighter, saying:

If a priest must fight, just as a Muslim Sheikh defends children and women, I will go and fight myself… I am a clergyman and a freedom fighter,

before going on to speak of the unity of Palestinian Christians and Muslims, rejecting sectarianism:

A far more powerful, meaningful and authentic Christmas message than any that was served up in the UK by the monarchy or the utterly complicit Keir Starmer – and not a new position for the good Father. Almost a year ago he told Noor news that:

As long as I have soul and alive in this mortal body, I will defend the Muslims in my country and the whole world.

If only now-former Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby or anyone in Keir Starmer’s government had a tenth as much moral sense and integrity.
