Official Israel account asks for emojis, gets flooded with Palestine flags

2021 tweet has been ratioed for months, but suddenly goes viral

A 2021 tweet by the official Israel account has gone viral, but not in a way that its Ministry of Strategic Affairs will like.

The account posted asking for the ‘most creative emoji’ and – despite its 1.7m followers, though how many are real is unclear – received only a few hundred shares. However, since Israel’s genocide in Israel began and even before that, it received many times more replies and ‘quote tweets’ with variations of Palestinian flag emojis.

But since early this morning, the number of responses and quotes have rocketed – with some responses receiving thousands of shares and tens of thousands of ‘likes’:

Israel’s apartheid-genocidal regime is murdering people in at least four countries, but it has lost the international battle of opinion and its actions in Gaza have well and truly exposed its real nature. Free Palestine.
