Dr Ahmad al-Kahlout had refused to leave his patients

Dr Hassam Abu Safiya, the director of the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza, has paid tribute to his colleague Dr Ahmad al-Kahlout, the head of the hospital’s intensive care unit. The Kamal Adwan is the only hospital in northern Gaza still functional in any form, although running as a skeletal operation now after repeated raids and bombing attacks by Israeli forces.
Dr al-Kahlout was murdered by an Israeli drone after refusing to abandon his patients under orders from Israeli forces.
Hospital director Dr Abu Safiya was also wounded in the leg last week during an Israeli attack and continues to work despite still suffering bleeding from his shrapnel wound. Al Jazeera covered al-Kahlout’s death, the mourning of his family and the dire situation around the hospital and showed footage of him in an earlier interview:
Arabic media have covered the news of the murder, but the BBC and other UK outlets have ignored it.

This Genocide has given the world a great many heroes and martyrs to mourn. And several governments to despise.
And countless crimes to be avenged.
Even after trying to lead his own 21yo murdered son’s funeral at the grounds of Gaza’s last functioning hospital, Dr Hussam Abu Safiya returned to provide medical treatment to others.
The occupying army that had killed his son and 100s of thousand other Palestinians then turned Hussam into a patient himself.
A CNN video report covers all this (‘no journalists in Gaza’ indeed David Lammy)
