Liverpool’s most radical group launches its vision for a better country

Tomorrow night, Thursday 7 November from 7pm, at the famous Casa socialist bar in Liverpool, the Merseyside Pensioners Association (MPA) will launch its manifesto. The event will be live-streamed by Skwawkbox and Socialist Telly here (YouTube) and here (Facebook), as well as on Skwawkbox Twitter.
The MPA has long been the most radical left-wing group on Merseyside and features members who stood up to Thatcher and every Tory since – including Keir Starmer. Speakers at the event will include:
- author and former ANC MP and minister under Nelson Mandela Andrew Feinstein, who stood against Keir Starmer in July and drastically reduced his majority
- activist and MPA chair Marie Harrison
- playwright, actor, writer and activist Tayo Aluko
- activist and FBU member Lee Hunter
- activist and MPA co-chair Mary Whitby
- Audrey White, who famously stunned Keir Starmer in Liverpool by holding him to account and who inspired the prize-winning Glenda Jackson film Business as Usual
All are welcome either in person or to join in the conversation via the Skwawkbox/Socialist Telly live-stream on your preferred social media platform (Facebook or YouTube, as Twitter/X no longer allows live comments) from 7pm.
