Pro-Israel counter-demonstration figure filmed appearing to point police toward people he wants detained
The 12-minute long footage from the national march for Palestine and against Israel’s genocide appears to show a man in a yellow vest – some kind of marshal of the tiny pro-Israel counter-demonstration, judging by his position in the area in front of the group – filming marchers as they pass then directing police toward a member of the anti-genocide march that he has singled out.
It seems highly unlikely that an undercover police officer would be wearing a hi-viz vest, standing separate from the march right next to police and filming so obviously on a phone camera inside a barriered area, rather than among or alongside the marchers where uniformed police could not go unnoticed.
The same police officers the man speaks to then get on their radios, before catching up to the victim, where they and other officers pull him out of the march and away from the marchers, where he appears to be searched, detained and questioned:
On Friday night, at a demonstration outside far-right Israel ambassador Tzipi Hotovely’s residence, police allowed an apparent pro-Israel agitator free access among anti-genocide protesters, where he was filmed pushing a camera into people’s faces – then violently arrested an already-injured young anti-racist activist, despite cries of ‘shame’ and horror from onlookers, and allegedly assaulted a number of elderly women in the process. The young man, later released, said that the pro-Israel activist pointed the police at him.
The national march for Gaza in London in September was disrupted by the Met Police, who ordered it to start later to suit a small pro-Israel demo, though the police ultimately backed down – and also in September, at the trial of a Muslim woman, the court was told that the Met force uses information supplied by notorious right-wing, pro-Israel troll accounts on social media as evidence against those protesting against Israel’s slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians.
And the force has been involved in a string of raids and arrests targeting activists and even journalists – many of them Jewish – who expose Israel’s war crimes, seizing vital equipment and imposing harsh and restrictive bail conditions.
Now it appears officers are even taking directions ‘on the fly’ from pro-Israel activists and possibly officials at protests against genocide and ethnic cleansing – and acting on those instructions against those trying to stop mass murder. The British state’s collusion in Israel’s genocide and propaganda only seems to grow deeper.
Anti-zionist Jewish activist Naomi Wimborne Idrissi, of Jewish Voice for Labour, told Skwawkbox:
Acting at the behest of supporters of a state carrying out a genocide is the last thing Brit police should be doing, given that they’ve already been set up by a pro-Israel propagandist faking a stunt to make it look as if police were enforcing a Jew-free zone in Central London.
No doubt the pro-Israel informants were fingering people with placards they claim offend Jews. Police should be taking advice from Jews on the Jewish Bloc who were actually on the demonstration.
If UK Labour had any humanitarian principles, it should stop action being taken against demonstrators calling for an end to genocide, not allow police to connive in suppressing demonstrators’ freedom of expression and legitimate right to protest.

(I rather think the fact that the **** was talking to a Police “Liason Officer” gives the game away. An undercover or other police officer would not need such a point of contact.)
Is this a general principle which applies to [checks notes for salient example], say, alleging Slavs, Chinese, or Persians are powerful enough to direct events to secure the outcome of US and British elections; or are we in exceptionalist “Rules Based Order” territory?

The video in a way called up memories people shared with me who had survived fascism in my country. In those days people were denounced by others, arrested to be taken away, frequently not to be heard of or seen ever again. Most either killed (sorry interrogated) and sent to concentration camps. I cannot see any difference between what is happening now and what was happening then. It pains me to see how little has been learned. I thoroughly detest what these genocidal monsters are doing to the people of Palestine, and to those who stand up against the genocide and do all they can to have their voices heard.
