Video: Israeli opposition leader admits military has lost 12,000 troops during Gaza genocide

Casualties killed and injured by resistance groups far exceed what Israel has admitted previously

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapide has revealed the real casualty figures inflicted on Israel’s military by Palestinian resistance groups since its genocide in Gaza began just over a year ago.

Speaking to Israeli broadcaster Channel 12, Lapide said that “Eleven thousand soldiers were injured and 890 others killed” since 7 October last year, that the casualty rate is lied about by the regime, is rising daily and will continue to rise under the current Israeli government:

There are limits to how much we accept the alternative facts.

Israel also continues to suffer heavy losses for almost no territorial gain in Lebanon and has resorted to trying to intimidate the Lebanese government into surrendering its sovereignty as Israel drops heavy bombs on civilian areas daily. Such is their fear of Gaza and Lebanon that hundreds of Israeli soldiers are reportedly refusing to return to active duty.

Other reports say that Lapide’s admission is itself a gross understatement of Israel’s losses. Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen said in June that Israel’s military had already suffered 20,000 casualties in Gaza by that point:

Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed around 200,000 civilians in Gaza, mostly women and children, and maimed many more. It is engaged in the deliberate starvation of two million more and in the ethnic cleansing through bombing and famine of northern Gaza. The UK government has said this week that it considers it unhelpful to call this mass slaughter a genocide.
