Other Middle East nations are supposed to sit back and let playground bully have its way, according to Starmer
After Israel’s air strikes last night on Iran, Keir Starmer told the world that Israel has the right to attack all the nations around it, but that they – and especially Iran – had better not think of defending themselves and giving Israel what it’s dishing out to everyone else.
Or as he put it, Israel ‘has a right to defend itself’ and ‘Iran should not respond’ – which is six and two threes in real terms:
Starmer and his Foreign Secretary David Lammy still refuse to say that Iran, or Lebanon, or the Palestinian people have a right to self-defence against the colonial occupiers who keep bombing them, but are happy to say that the playground bully should never face consequences – because that would be ‘escalation’, while the law-breaking bully’s constant murderousness is just Israel being Israel, as far as certain western ‘leaders’ are concerned.
Starmer and Lammy have also refused to condemn Israel’s terrorist attacks on Lebanon and subsequent mass bombing of civilian homes, its ceaseless slaughter of the people of Gaza, or its bombing of buildings with diplomatic protection when it feels like it, or when it declares its plan to murder all the journalists left in northern Gaza who won’t stop reporting on its war crimes.
Netanyahu, meanwhile, reportedly spent Israel’s ‘self-defence’ in a bunker deep underground because, well, it’s only common sense to do so while you’re lashing out when another drone might come through your bedroom window and you might not be out next time.
