Deranged speech justifies the murder of civilians in open air prison
Germany’s unconditional support for genocidal Israel has already seen it criminalise and brutalise protesters and activists who speak out in support of Palestinian human rights and against Israel’s slaughter of as many as 200,000 innocent Palestinians in Gaza.
Now, Germany’s foreign minister Annalena Baerbock has given a speech in which she justifies – as Israel is bombing and burning innocents even in hospital – Israel’s mass murder by saying that civilians ‘lose their protected status’ if ‘Hamas’ is in the vicinity, which she frames as ‘hiding’ behind them even though Gaza is a tiny territory that Israel has turned into an open prison with nowhere else for those living there to go or be:
Baerbock has condemned Iranian missile attacks for endangering civilians, but they weren’t Palestinian so presumably that makes it ok.

Neither Germany nor Israel appears to have learned anything from the 1930s/1940s. Bizarre doesn’t even begin to describe it.

– Germany committed genocide against the Herero and the Nama between 1904-1907.
– Then it committed genocide in WW2: between 250K and 500K Romani were exterminated alongside around 6 million Jews in the Nazi extermination camps.
The best way of predicting future behaviour is past behaviour. Hence, no surprised by Germany’s foreign minister speech, I am afraid rather as expected.

I wouldn’t bank on it, Paul S. Baerbock is, like Petra Kelly, the Greens’ leader when I lived in Germany (1980/90s), distrusted by true eco-socialist Greens.
Today’s news of her speech is alienating Greens more strongly than any other group.

I am afraid Israel wants to go there. Israel knows that the only way it would survive as a Zionist State is if it manages to drag the US into a war with Iran and wins it.
The problem Israel has is that the US cannot possibly sustain a long enough a war with Iran, for the US and Israel to win resolutely, and the US knows it.
How long will it take for Israel to understand that the US isn’t interesting in waging war against Iran but, is willing to use Israel in an attempt to debilitate Iran? I don’t know.
In the meantime, Israel will carry on killing Arabs in earnest and the US will still supply Israel with the means to do it.
