Jeremy Loffredo jailed after embarrassing Israel by revealing its lies about Iran missile hits – and its settlers blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza
Grayzone journalist and US citizen Jeremy Loffredo has been beaten, jailed and charged with ‘aiding the enemy’ – a capital offence in Israel – by occupation police after doing journalism the far-right Netanyahu regime disliked.
Investigative journalist Loffredo, who also exposed the blocking of humanitarian aid en route to Gaza by extremist Israeli settlers – with the collusion of the regime – has revealed that missiles from Iran’s retaliatory strike last week did indeed get through to strike Israeli military facilities and landed close to intelligence service Mossad’s headquarters.
Loffredo was blindfolded and badly beaten by Israeli forces and placed in detention. He was released on Friday afternoon after being detained for four days, but has reportedly been charged and forbidden to leave the country or travel within it. The information he uncovered has been reported by Israeli media, but no Israeli journalist has been charged. Nothing he revealed put any Israeli lives in danger. The video that Israel has used as its pretext for arresting and charging him is below:
The Israeli government had lied that none of the missiles reached their military targets and banned media from reporting on damage caused. Along with its allies, including UK prime minister Keir Starmer, it then tried to paint Iran’s retaliation as an attack targeting civilians, even though none were killed by Iran’s attack, unlike Israel’s mass murder in Gaza and Lebanon.
Despite calls for action from free speech and journalistic freedom groups, the US government appears to have said and done nothing about Israel beating, imprisoning and laying capital charges against a US citizen for doing journalism. Israel’s targeting of journalists for revealing truth and exposing lies has been mirrored in the arrests of journalists and activists in the UK under the regime of ‘unequivocal supporter of Zionism’ Starmer.

UK-based Israeli historian Ilan Pappé, author of the seminal The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, who offers a startling concise analysis of the clash between the State of Judea and the State of Israel, as Palestinians are seen as being in the way of a neo-Zionist messianic coalition taking a settler colonial ideology to the extreme.
Pappé argues that what came out of the success of the State of Judea in the November 2022 elections, as they aligned with Netanyahu, shattered the myth of Israel as “progressive occupiers” and “liberal” ethnic cleansers. It’s impossible to reconcile all that with genocide.
Pappé stressed how “they want to implement their idea quickly, removing any charade of legality”, including the creation of a “new ministry for the West Bank to intensify the ethnic cleansing.”
The bottom line, adds Pappé, is that:
“the state of Judea is taking over – army, security services, the police.”
Their electoral base supports a regional war. Pappé is adamant:
“The State of Israel is already gone. And the State of Judea is a suicidal state. More than 500,000 Israelis have already left, and that could be 700,000. Genocide and ethnic cleansing are now established facts.”
The “lack of social cohesion” in a “deeply divided society” ultimately is pointing to the “violent disintegration” of Israel.
This reinforces the point made by experienced diplomats like Alistair Crook, recently, who point to a State which is now run by expansionist thugs who wish to conquer and occupy an ever expanding area of territory across the region for an exclusive wider State of Judea with no room for anyone not one of them who are considered sub-human to be exterminated like vermin.
Claiming divine justification. Does anyone seriously believe that such fanatics – who give zealots a bad name – will ever be satisfied with only, part of Syria, part of Egypt, part of Saudi Arabia, part of Iraq (in addition to all of Lebanon and Jordon)?

The fact that most journalist in the US and UK are not reporting on Loffredo’s arrest, it makes clear to me that the so called ” professional journalists” aren’t journalists at all but, rather mouth pieces for their governments and Israel.

To be blunt the Occupation Force entity which calls itself Israel is perhaps not the best advert for proportional representation.
If it had first past the post then the Far Right fundamentalists there wouldn’t get a sniff of power.
It also has, as someone else said, 7m people surrounded by a about 400m mainly Muslims yet they want it all!
Perhaps they are so cocky because they believe that they have the USA, & other countries leaders jumping to the US tune, watching their backs whilst also providing technical & military aid.
