Israel shells UN base in Lebanon – again – and kills more civilians in Gaza, Beirut

Rogue state again has no respect for international law as it attacks Unifil peacekeepers and innocents

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) has been attacked by Israeli invasion forces for a third time in the last few days. After being stung by the refusal of Irish peacekeepers to abandon their post next to a Lebanese village – and apparently determined to drive out or blind potential witnesses to their atrocities – Israeli tanks have shelled Unifil’s Indian outpost in southern Lebanon early this morning, as Israeli jets attacked in the nearby valley.

At least two Unifil troops are receiving treatment after being wounded when their watchtower was shelled yesterday and base perimeter cameras were also shot and disabled. Unifil has not yet released information about potential casualties from the latest attack. The UN has said its troops, who are clearly identified with blue helmets and white vehicles marked with ‘UN’, are being deliberately targeted – a fact beyond reasonable question.

Israel also murdered dozens overnight in attacks on civilians sheltering in northern Gaza and in central Beirut, where a residential block was targeted with heavy bombs.

British PM Keir Starmer, an ‘unequivocal supporter’ of Zionism, has yet to mention Israel’s repeated terror attacks on Lebanese civilians, while he condemned retaliation for them within minutes – or Israel’s flouting of international law to attack the UN peacekeepers.

  1. I don’t get this under the UN charter you can fire back if attacked. Sod just hunkering down and getting pounded you have the dam firepower use it back!

  2. Israel knew when they fire at the Indian peace keepers that with Modi in government the Indian forces will not retaliate. When in the case of Ireland troops they didn’t dare. Moreover, Ireland in a member of NATO and they wouldn’t wan to cross that line with Joe “Irish”.
I have little doubt that was Israel to target the Spanish blue helmets station as peace keepers on the border, they would not have the same restrains as the Indian troops.

    1. Maria the Republic of Ireland is not in NATO. Northern Ireland is as part of UK. As for Joe ‘ Irish’ Biden that’s only when it suits him. Maybe I’m missing something but the UK broacast media haven’t covered this.

      1. It got a cursory mention in passing this morning. Can’t remember which channel.
