Video: former Israeli sniper-turned activist tells how occupation forces abuse, control, kill Palestinians

Nadav Weiman, a former IDF sniper who is now an anti-occupation activist, told a US congressional hearing how the IOF has maintained control over occupied Palestine for years and the abuse and violence on which the occupation is based:

Weiman now represents Breaking the Silence, a group that describes itself:

Breaking the Silence is an organization of veteran soldiers who have served in the Israeli military since the start of the Second Intifada and have taken it upon themselves to expose the public to the reality of everyday life in the Occupied Territories. We endeavor to stimulate public debate about the price paid for a reality in which young soldiers face a civilian population on a daily basis, and are engaged in the control of that population’s everyday life. Our work aims to bring an end to the occupation.

Israel’s invasion of the West Bank is now in its second week, alongside its genocide in Gaza that has murdered as many as 200,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. The occupation regime has killed close to 1,000 civilians in the West Bank, including almost two hundred children, since 7 October – when Israel’s military killed an ‘immense’ number of its own people – and has now stepped up its assault on civilian life and infrastructure in West Bank cities and refugee camps.

  1. Headlines Beeb, three Israeli border guards killed at checkpoint. No, I was astonished at their balanced report as well.
