Cowardly Foreign Secretary runs scared of former leader’s question about UK’s direct military support for genocide

Cowardly Foreign Secretary David Lammy – already shamed last month by the resignation of a senior Foreign Office diplomat over his department’s ‘unquestionable’ complicity in Israel’s genocide in Gaza – compounded his disgrace today in Parliament by refusing to answer his former party leader’s question about the UK’s direct military support for Israel’s slaughter of as many as 200,000 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children.
Challenged directly, the shifty-looking Lammy dodged the question, rambling instead some predictable dross about the supposedly low level of UK arms exports to Israel and being ‘very comfortable’ with the UK’s military support for the murderous terror state (though of course he wasn’t honest enough to call it that):
In a social media post about the exchange, Corbyn highlighted Lammy’s shiftiness and spinelessness:
I asked the Foreign Secretary what role Britain has played in flying surveillance aircraft over Gaza, and whether the British army base in Cyprus is being used as a staging point for flights to Israel.
He refused to answer.
Israel continues to slaughter Palestinians, bombing schools, homes and hospitals, to impose famine and deadly disease on two million people and to murder journalists and aid workers. Shortly before the general election, Nelson Mandela’s grandson Zwelivelile Mandela called Lammy ‘an apologist for genocide‘. Like his boss Keir Starmer, he remains one.

At one time Lammy’s Guyanese ancestors would have been slaves under the Dutch and then the British. Now he’s provided the arms for violent colonial domination.
But there again, Uncle Lammy had stooped to being a junior minister under racist-imperialist Blair, so it appears nothing is beneath him!
Malcolm X explained this phenomenon as well as anyone:
They killed Malcolm as ha moved towards socialism. Notice how the Black Muslims move and speak with impetunity? Small socialist movement like Black Uhuru attacked.
Looks pathetic, but if you applied the same calculation to the Yanks, then that is a bit more substantial
In reality it makes it harder to defend what they are doing
Sorry wrong thread
