Breaking: Amnesty calls for war crimes investigation into Israel’s murder of Rafah refugees

Attacks on camp in southern Gaza, where thousands forced to flee to so-called ‘safe zones’, should be urgently investigated by ICC, says human rights group

A new Amnesty International report will call for Israel’s repeated attacks on Gaza refugee camps in Rafah, set up to shelter the hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians forcibly displaced by Israeli occupation forces, to be investigated as war crimes by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Israel has repeatedly ordered Palestinian civilians into so-called ‘safe zones’, only to then bomb them. Many families have been forced to move eight or nine times.

ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan has applied to the court for arrest warrants for Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, but only for a narrow subset of Israel’s war crimes relating to Israel’s blockade and starvation of Gaza and the forced displacement of civilians – no doubt in an attempt to limit the scope for objections by the Israeli regime and its allies among western governments. The court has not yet issued the warrants, even though Khan said last week there was no obstacle to it doing so.

The ICC must investigate all Israel’s past and continuing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza and bring to book all who are responsible, not just in Israel but also those in western governments and groups who have aided or incited Israel’s genocide of two hundred thousand innocent Palestinians and other war crimes.

  1. You know what the response is gonna be from benny & co. They’ll be saying amnesty’s logo is antisemitic, next.

……”The Anglo-American colonial project in Palestine has launched another war to remove the indigenous population from its land.

Israel launches major operation in West Bank; Palestinian officials say 9 killed – Washington Post….

Since June 1967, when the Zionist launched a war against its Arab neighbors, it has illegally occupied the West Bank and Gaza…..

…..In the Gaza strip the colonial army has pushed the 2 million plus surviving Palestinians into an area of less than 15 square kilometer. It continues bombing them. Any building beyond has been raised. The obvious aim there is to push the whole population into Egypt’s Sinai desert and to provide their land to illegal settlers.

A similar project has now started in the West Bank. The Zionists plan to raze it to then push its Palestinian population across the river into Jordan.

There is little support the Palestinians can count on. The ‘western’ world is supporting the Zionist entity with all it has. The U.S., Germany and others provide it with a steady stream of weapons and ammunition. The Arab world is mostly silent. Turkey provides the Zionist entity with oil stolen from the Kurdish regions in Iraq. Egypt has expanded its economic ties with Israel by becoming a way station for imports to that country.”

Continuing to support this fascist endeavour whilst paying lip service to a two-state solution – which the majority of Israeli society has made clear they will never agree to nor accept – and crowing about restoring funding to relief agencies such as UNRWA is nothing more than cynical virtue signalling to cover support for genocide and an extremist, racist Zionist Supremacy ideology.
