‘I’ll be imprisoned if I’m filmed saying this but missile that killed 12 Druze civilians at football pitch was Israeli’, says medic – and funeral-goers drive away far-right Israeli politicians attempting to co-opt deaths of occupied people
Witnesses, including an Israeli emergency responder, have said that the missile that struck a football pitch and killed twelve civilians in the occupied Golan Heights was an Israeli rocket.
Israeli military and political figures have tried to capitalise on the deaths by claiming that the missile was fired by Lebanese militia group Hezbollah and that the victims were ‘Israeli citizens’ – in fact they were Syrian Druze, who have mostly rejected Israeli citizenship because they are an occupied people and would not be a natural target for Hezbollah.
Witnesses told an Arab journalist that the missile was fired from a unit of Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ air defence system and fell onto the football pitch – and that the Israeli military had excluded witnesses who saw the missile from the impact site, as well as journalists who asked to inspect it:
Israel has been caught out lying about missile strikes in Gaza, claiming its attacks on hospitals were misfired ‘Hamas rockets’, even doctoring images to shore up its claim. Analysis quickly showed the missile had originated in Israeli territory. The Israeli military is also known to have killed an ‘immense’ number of its own people during the 7 October Hamas raid.
Families of those killed organised funerals with the coffins draped in white shrouds, with no national flags, and asked Israeli government ministers not to attend – and were forced to drive away far-right government politicians, including the notorious Bezalel Smotrich, who attempted to gate-crash the funeral for political purposes. Mourners were heard calling the ministers ‘criminals’
Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the strike, which Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu claimed was the ‘worst’ since 7 October and war minister Yoav Gallant decried for the deaths of children – Israel has murdered tens of thousands of children in Gaza since October. The US, following the pattern of its endorsement of Israel’s claims about hospital strikes in Gaza, has announced its agreement with the Netanyahu regime that Hezbollah was to blame.

‘Dancing on Blood of Our Children’ – Bereaved Druze Village Rejects Israeli Ministers (VIDEOS)
Meanwhile, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson on his sonar21 site cites…..
https://t.me/therevolutionreport/4646
…….this statement on telegram from Zionist Foreign Minister Katz……
” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has announced a “disproportionate” response after Israel blamed Hezbollah for a rocket attack that killed ten people, mostly children, on a football field in Majdal Shams, Golan Heights. Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the attack.
Israel is now on the verge of “all-out war” with Hezbollah, according to Katz, who said Israel has support from the US and Europe for escalation.”
……and observes:
“Did you catch that? “Israel has support from the US and Europe for escalation.” So Israel, in the name of justice, is going to kill hundreds, if not thousands, of children in Lebanon. Yeah, that is an equitable response.
In the wake of the blast in Majdal Shams, the Zionist Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, issued a call to assassinate Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah. Heated threats like this, coupled with the wrong-headed belief in the Biden Administration that Israel has the military prowess to whip Hezbollah, is pushing the Middle East towards a massive regional war that could rapidly spin out of control.
If Katz is right — i.e., the US and Europe have signed off on a full-scale Israeli attack on Lebanon — then we are on the brink of the abyss. Maybe it was not just a strange, twisted coincidence that the Olympic organizers featured the image of the pale horse that reminded many of the prophecy in the Book of Revelations.”
——————————————————-
This observation of Katz statement begs several questions. Not least of which is what does Katz mean when he refers to “Europe” in this context?
Is he talking about the political Europe of the EU or a geographical Europe which includes the UK and its so called ‘Labour’ Government when he claims Europe as well as the US are board as signing off on support for extending the Zionist Genocide beyond Gaza into Lebanon and likely beyond?
Given Starmer’s track record and public stance on being an avowed and proud Zionist it seems more than reasonable to surmise this is likely to be the case.
In the event of this being the case those who uncritically and sycophantically fawn over Starmer and, more to the point, his policies and what he represents, are faced with the very simple choice of either continuing to make excuses for him and what he stands for whilst at the same time attempting to virtue signal on the issue of a Genocide supported by the UK Government or accepting the reality of the evidence about Starmer and what he represents which has been supplied to them over a number of years.
At which points the question then arises as to which way will you jump, Billy?

Dave – You’re the one relying on Katz’s word, some may question whether this is a wise thing to do. 🤔
And yet, Billy, everyone from Trump to Harris, Biden and the rest of the Blob – along with the compliant corporate media which is also reporting these statements from the leading US presidential figures- are singing from the same bi-partisan hymn sheet on the Israeli claim that a missile which hit SYRIAN Druze civilians on SYRIAN territory illegally occupied by Israel was a missile deliberately fired on that location from LEBANON.
A hymn sheet which conveniently supports the escalation of the conflict being sought by the Israeli Cabinet. Clearly signalling once more that the Western Oligarchy has Israel’s back, and by definition backing up Katz claims of Western support for widening the conflict.
Which, as former diplomat Alistair Crooke – dealing with facts (regardless of what platform he is using – which is not relevant to the issue) – notes here…….
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDERjMb3ZIs&t=8s&ab_channel=JudgeNapolitano-JudgingFreedom
…..is unlikely to be before the Presidential election – should it take place – unless the Zionists tail can bounce the dog into following the Israeli cabinet timetable to drag the West into a wider conflict.
The only people who would think it “unwise” would be the terminally gullible such as yourself.
And still this carnage goes on we had humans should be very ashamed of our governments
Thank you for clarifying this. There were several immediate ‘problems’ with what was being reported in the MSM – it was clearly not Hezbollah, the people photographed were clearly not Israelis, there were no national flags at the funerals …
… and this will be used as the ‘reason’ for ramping up military action and fomenting wider death and destruction across the region … utterly grotesque
Let us not forget that it is the UK-state broadcaster– not only the ‘free’ corporate press – which is systematically misrepresenting the facts behind this story. Credit to Jonathan Cook:
“BCC coverage of the attack on a football pitch in the Golan Heights on Saturday has been intentionally misleading.
“The BBC’s evening news entirely ignored the fact that those killed by the blast are a dozen Syrians, not Israeli citizens, and that for decades the surviving Syrian population in the Golan, most of them Druze, has been forced to live unwillingly under an Israeli military occupation.
“I suppose mention of this context might complicate the story Israel and the BBC wish to tell – and risk reminding viewers that Israel is a belligerent state occupying not just Palestinian territory but Syrian territory too (not to mention nearby Lebanese territory).
“It might suggest to audiences that these various permanent Israeli occupations have been contributing not only to large-scale human rights abuses but to regional tensions as well. That Israel’s acts of aggression against its neighbours might be the cause of “conflict”, rather than, as Israel and the BBC would have us believe, some kind of unusual, pre-emptive form of self-defence.
“The BBC, of course, chose to uncritically air comments from a military spokesman for Israel, who blamed Hizbullah for the blast in the Golan.
“Daniel Hagari tried to milk the incident for maximum propaganda value, arguing: “This attack shows the true face of Hizbullah, a terrorist organisation that targets and murders children playing soccer.”
“Except, as the BBC failed to mention in its report, Israel infamously targeted and murdered four young children from the Bakr family playing football on a beach in Gaza in 2014.
“Much more recently, video footage showed Israel striking yet more children playing football at a school in Gaza that was serving as a shelter for families whose homes were destroyed by earlier Israeli bombs.”

Thank you Skwawkbox for reporting the truth here.
Thanks, Skwawkbox and Jonathan Cook.
I seen an interview (BBC?) yesterday with some smirking Israeli Lt Colonel (or whatever he was) at the scene, stating that they have been preparing for this (war with Lebanon/hizbollah) for a long time.
The grin on his grid gave the game away. These murderous, nihilist fuckers are gonna start a major, potential world war, and they’re scheming to get the west to do their filthy bidding for them.
Fuck them off. Every one of them. Most of all hideous shrieking cunts like that riley.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/jul/29/israel-gaza-war-palestinians-suffering-normalisation
” [This normalisation] looks like accepting that there are certain groups of people who can be killed. That it is, in fact, reasonable and necessary that they should die in order to maintain a political system that is built on the inequality of human life. This is what the philosopher Achille Mbembe calls “necropolitics” – the exercising of power to dictate how some people live and how others must die.
Necropolitics creates “deathworlds” where there are “new and unique forms of social existence in which vast populations are subjected to living conditions that confer upon them the status of the living dead”. In those deathworlds the killing of others, and the destruction of their habitat through epic military capabilities whose impact is never experienced by the citizens of the countriesresponsible, confer even more value on the humanity of those in the “civilised” west. They are exempt because they are good, not because they are strong. Palestinians die because they are bad, not because they are weak….
…..
The result is a world that feels as if it’s in the jarring middle of that transition. Where political events move forward with speed, folding Gaza into the normal. …
What world emerges after this? The war on Gaza is simply too big, too live, too relentless for its forced normalisation to occur without unintended consequences. The end result is all of humanity degraded; the end result is a world in which when the call comes to aid people in need, no one will be capable of heeding it.”

One small problem, Israel is unable to defend itself and the Yanks know China, Russia, Iran, Turkey are standing on the sidelines
Hezbollah has enough fire power to decimate every town and city in Israel
Crooks and Genocidal mainiacs are driving this ehitshoa, I read somewhere that part of the nuclear deterrent going back was to have a designated assassin to kill anyone who seriously thought about pressing the button

“UK government to suspend arms sales to Israel ‘soon’ as top lawyer says UK must follow ICJ ruling
Reports suggest the UK is set to announce the suspension of arms sales to Israel over fears weapons are being used to commit war crimes in Gaza.
World
The British government is considering suspending arms to Israel as soon as Tuesday over concerns that Israel is breaching international laws in its war on Gaza, according to Israeli and UK media reports.
The possibility has irked the Israeli government according to the British newspaper The Telegraph, which cited unnamed Israeli sources.
It comes off the back of a decision earlier this month from the new Labour government led by Sir Keir Starmer to restore aid funding to UN Palestinian agency UNRWA.”
https://www.newarab.com/news/uk-government-suspend-arms-sales-israel-soon-report
As everyone is well aware, Billy, there is more than one way to ‘skin a rabbit’.
Arms sales represent merely one vector of support for the present apartheid state of Israel its goals and its actions.
Other means of support include technology and technology transfer; finance; military personnel specialists and training (in 404, to cite one example, the place is crawling with Western military personnel on secondment or some kind of temporary discharge etc to maintain plausible deniability); political (including at the UN*); diplomatic; moral; cultural and so on.
Besides which, your response does not deal with the actual question asked: Which concerns the diplomatic and political support of The Collective West, possibly including the UK (?), having the Zionist State’s back to extend the present conflict into Lebanon and possibly beyond.
* When Israel ignores the International Courts, for example, and Resolutions are brought before the UN on that issue or any extension of the conflict into Lebanon or beyond will the UK continue to hide behind the inevitable US veto by abstaining – thereby lending tacit diplomatic and political support – or will it go against The Special Relationship (which is the Holy Grail of UK Foreign Policy) by voting with the Global Majority?**
** Everyone paying attention know the answer to that question.
Dave – You thought that you knew all the answers on whether or not Keir would progress with the Tory’s plan to oppose the ICC issuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu plus others, and look how that worked out.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
reply to steveh at 11.21pm –
Starmer’s actions and statements are recognised for what they are: “Yes Sir” responses to Washington.
He has no initiative, independence of thought, principle or integrity. He’s as much a US puppet as Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Precisely, qwertboi.
In the wider context, other client States like Germany are pursuing the legal challenge to the ICC warrant.
What you fail to address – as you always do, Billy, because you always have no answers – is the arguments put to you.
Come back if ever you have something substantive to offer which is backed by actual evidence.

Meanwhile, it always pays to read the small print rather than going off half-cocked the way you have, Billy.:
Exhibit One:

“Foreign Secretary David Lammy said earlier this month that even if sales of offensive arms are suspended due to Gaza war, defensive weapons exports will continue…..
……The defence secretary, who has said he wants a balanced position on Israel and Gaza, signalled earlier this month that even in the event that the UK limits the sale of offensive weapons, it would not implement a blanket ban on arms sales to Israel.
Questioned by a Green Party lawmaker on whether he would act to stop “all UK arms exports to Israel,” Lammy answered in the negative, stressing the need for Israel to have access to defensive weapons.”

Exhibit two:
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/exclusive-uk-likely-restrict-arms-sales-israel-and-drop-icc-objection
“The UK is expected to introduce restrictions on arms sales to Israel, Middle East Eye can reveal…..
……Well-informed sources within the Labour Party told Middle East Eye that in the coming days the government is likely to introduce some restrictions on arms sales but not suspend sales entirely……
…..Sources told MEE that the announced restrictions are likely to be on the sale of offensive weapons. The foreign secretary told MPs last week that given the attacks by the Houthis, Hezbollah and Hamas on Israel, it would “not be right to have a blanket ban between our countries”.
He suggested he was looking at offensive weapons Israel could use in Gaza as part of the review he had ordered.”
Do you actually understand the difference between STOPPING arms sales and RESTRICTING arms sales, Billy?
Or were you desperately hoping no one would notice?
