Blood plasma service was sold to massive venture capital company criticised for starving businesses it runs, who quickly sold it on

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has put out an appeal for blood donors because of an ‘unprecedented’ shortage of O-type blood. The call has led to calls for him to renationalise the Blood Plasma Service, which was sold by the Tories in a ‘crap deal’ to venture capitalist firm Bain Capital. The firm has been criticised for taking so much profit that the businesses it buys are starved of cash (Kosman, The Buyout of America, 2009).
The deal has been described as ‘crap’ because Bain held the plasma service for only three years before selling it on to a Chinese firm for £820m, more than three times what it had paid – and almost ten times what it had actually paid up front to the government:

Streeting could make a statement of intent by bringing the service back into public ownership. But despite Starmer’s leadership campaign promise to renationalise the NHS, Streeting, his boss and his front bench colleagues have taken huge donations from health privateers and he has said he wants to bring more privatisation into the NHS, so it would be unwise to hold your breath.

NHS Blood and Transfusion Services (NHSBT) is actively seeking ‘partnership opportunities’. Aren’t they (the NHS) always?
Nothing’s good or sustainable (according to the overtly-neoliberal NHS Executive board) until and unless it is inspired and stimulated by the mighty profit motive.
Wesley Paul William Streeting is their perfect leader.
FWIW – The NHS is forced to provide considerable haematology and Blood Transfusion services to ANY for-profit private hospital that requests it – often at no charge. This is an effective subsidy from the severely under-funded NHS to private, for-profit hospitals.
If Wes Streeting were part of a real-Labour government, he’d change this immediately.

And yet The Official Narrative mantra since the sacred Frauline Robert’s day has always been that the private sector can stand on its own two feet without the need for public subsidy.
Not content with bailing out so called too big to fail banks, providing annual subsidies to energy and other private conglomerates which run into tens of billions of pounds annually (which help pay for their army of lobbyists in Parliament to keep the scam going), cross subsidising private firms from public funds from utilities to local public transport, libraries to sports centres and so on, we are now running up further debt – currently at over 9 trillion dollars 2024)/190% of GDP (2023 figure) – to cross subsidise private health companies.
Not to mention the drain on a dwindling financial resource base of transporting billions in sterling to fund the scam that is the illegal neo-Nazi controlled junta in Kiev.
You can almost anticipate the outboard motor starting up in the (alleged) Caribbean:
But…but….but….but….but….but…but….but…………..wait for the budget.
Wait for the budget Dave? Why? labour has just reneged on their election promise to drop energy bills by £300.
Seems Charlie will be quids in though
That was certainly my point NVLA:

Charlie boy must be seething at only getting the small change from his subjects, whilst the khaki wearing clown in the black hole Kiev gets several billion from us.
Has Streeting, seriously, still not worked out what’s going wrong?
Upton Sinclair’s well known observation applies. To paraphrase:
“It is difficult to get someone to understand something when their salary depends on them not understanding it.”
Streeting may or may not know what is going wrong. However, the army of lobbyists – subsidised via the public purse, which the Red Tories have been sucking up to for the last few years since Herr Starmer’s coup……

…..means that he does not give a FF. His comfy lifestyle and continued status depend on him doing as he’s told by the oligarch class who control the political system.
However, don’t fret Martin, I have every confidence that someone will be along soon to excuse this and explain to you and the rest of us that we are wrong and to just be patient until the autumn budget which will magically fix everything whilst providing every home in the UK with a fee pink unicorn with matching rainbow.
I hazzard a guess that he is complicit with it. He knows which side his bread is buttered.
Wes Streeting has taken a number of donations from people linked to private healthcare firms https://www.thenational.scot/news/24250557.wes-streeting-takes-175k-donors-linked-private-health-firms/
With jobs for the boys and girls back handers why change
