Police arrest anti-genocide activist for ‘terrorism’ – ousted Ashworth tries to exploit

Binned Starmeroid accused of using arrest news as revenge for Freeman’s viral video of Ashworth being challenged by constituents about Labour’s support for Israel’s mass murder in Gaza

Ousted Starmeroid Jonathan Ashworth, who squandered a 23,000 majority in Leicester South to lose to independent pro-Palestine activist Shockat Adam in last week’s general election, has been accused of trying to exploit state suppression of a local anti-genocide activist, who ‘saved the life’ of a Hindu during riots in Leicester, to get back at the new MP.

Majid Freeman, has been arrested by Leicestershire Police on suspicion of ‘terrorism’ – part of an ‘ongoing witch-hunt’ against supporters of Palestinian freedom – for his comments supporting the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, was the person who recorded a viral video of Ashworth, during the election campaign, refusing to answer constituents’ questions about the genocide:

Ashworth told Sky News the arrest meant Shockat Adam has ‘serious questions to answer’ and, risibly, linked it to the ‘safety of the people of Leicester’.

Ashworth has been mocked by left-wing Jewish group Jewdas after he appeared to use the arrests as a cheap shot against Shockat Adam:

Human rights group CAGE said of Freeman’s arrest:

Although Freeman’s arrest is part of the general policy of repression of Palestinian solidarity in Britain, it is also the latest episode of the local establishment specifically targeting him for his community activism.
Freeman’s viral video of Jon Ashworth, a senior ally of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, proved instrumental to Ashworth losing his seat in Leicester South in the recent General Election.

In 2022, Freeman highlighted police failings when RSS-Hindutva groups insisted on paramilitary-style marching through Muslim majority areas while chanting provocative slogans. Despite video footage shown on Sky News of Freeman protecting an innocent Hindu man from being attacked, who said Freeman ‘saved his life’, Leicester police prosecuted him under section 4 of the Public Order Act 1986. Freeman was convicted of the offence last month.

CAGE Director Muhammad Rabbani said:

“The first few days of a Starmer-led government has seen the arrest of an anti genocide activist in Leicester, the arrests of 7 students protesting Israeli genocide at the SOAS encampment, and continuing silence in the wake of increasing Israeli slaughter of Palestinians with the full political and military support of Britain. Despite the change of party, it’s business as usual.

Like Julian Assange, the only crime Majid Freeman is guilty of is exposing Western complicity in genocide. The establishment’s Al Capone tactics of intimidation will not work. The people will continue to stand with the Palestinian resistance against Western-sponsored Israeli genocide.”

Locals told Skwawkbox they believe that Ashworth, who walked straight into a job with a right-wing pressure group after his defeat, was trying to use Freeman’s arrest as a petty attempt to get back at Shockat Adam.

Skwawkbox has predicted that Keir Starmer, an ardent supporter of genocidal Israel who had deep connections to the security state and supported repressive policing laws long before the fascist Reform party ushered him into Downing Street, will quickly attempt to strangle pro-Palestine protest.

      1. WHY are you linking to a full-length ashworth interview, when he’s the subject of ridicule on this article/site (as always)?

WHAT lends you the notion that posters on this site (bar yourself) would want to hear another blurted word from the lisping infantile, treacherous meff, especially after hearing year after year of his spluttering bullshit?

        Just desist, ffs.

      2. Toffee – “WHY are you linking to a full-length Ashworth interview”

That will become very obvious to you if you listen to the full interview, you may even find it amusing.

      3. Why would anyone want to waste their time listening to such liars, frauds, bullies and charlatans Billy?

Why are you promoting this garbage? Is it because you are a fellow traveller sharing these same character traits Billy?

      4. You have to understand, Dave….ashworth lost. So now he’s fair game to our resident beaut.

Like dayglo donald, wee stevie man-baby doesn’t do losers.

  2. Fucking infantile fat-tongued rodent. Boiled my piss as an MP and continues to do so now. He makes a certain poster on here appear mature.

Leicestershire plod are no better. I hope the new MP goes to town on ashworth (using parliamentary privilege) in his maiden speech.

Not as if keef could do a dicky-bird about it. I doubt he would anyway, seeing as ashworth was (rightfully) binned.

    1. At least NO decent person – outside of the irrelevant imature poster you cite – would engage with Ashworth particularly if he was appearing on Andrew Marr.
It should be remembered that Marr celebrated Blair’s ‘shock & awe’ killing of Iraqi civilians in a broadcast outside of #10 Downing Street as “a Vindication”.

  3. The “repression of Palestinian solidarity” and Labour’s hierarchy of racism are coming together beautifully under Starmer.

No-wonder 79% of the British electorate didn’t vote for Starmer’s party last Thursday.
