‘But that’s your job!’ British doc tells Jeff Smith after he dismisses fact Israeli occupation forces used guided bomb to target house they knew contained medical team
A British doctor has confronted Labour front-bencher Jeff Smith – who is standing for re-election in the doctor’s constituency – after Smith ignored his report that Israeli occupation forces had deliberately bombed a house in which they knew he and other medical personnel were staying, using a GPS-guided missile aimed at the coordinates the doctors had been told to provide to keep them safe.
Smith claimed that he couldn’t ‘advocate for every single individual’ – and was told ‘But that’s your job!’. As indeed it is, and he could hardly claim that a doctor getting deliberately bombed as part of a genocide is ‘run of the mill’ constituency business that got lost in the general day-to-day:
Israel has continually targeted doctors, journalists, schools and civic workers in Gaza alongside the well over 100,000 civilians it has murdered and maimed. Labour is complicit in its war crimes and the lives and wellbeing even of constituents is not allowed to disturb that. The party has become a racist endeavour.
