Jennie Formby, former Labour general secretary, has endorsed independent candidate and former Mandela minister Andrew Feinstein to become the MP for Holborn and St Pancras, where he is challenging ‘Labour leader’ Keir Starmer.
Formby was general secretary of Labour from 2018-20 under Jeremy Corbyn and briefly under Sir Keir Starmer, though Starmer could hardly wait to oust her and replace her with a right-wing drone. She was only the second female general secretary in the Party’s history.
Since Formby left, Labour has lost a huge number of members under Starmer took over, falling to by well over two hundred thousand.
Formby stated:
I am happy to endorse Andrew Feinstein’s candidacy to be the MP for Holborn and St Pancras.
This country needs people like Andrew in Parliament – somebody who wants to tackle the inter-related climate, housing and inequality crises that we face. There is no doubt he will fight for all of his constituents and advocate for the truly transformative and progressive policies we need to make this country fairer and greener.
Andrew has a long track record standing up for Palestinian rights and against the horrors we see unfolding in Gaza. He has worked to expose and oppose the corruption in the global arms trade and the devastating consequences of unchecked militarism. I know he will work tirelessly to advocate for an immediate end to arms sales to Israel.
Formby has been critical of Starmer’ leadership of the Labour Party on X and recently criticised Labour’s handling of issues of racism, slamming the party’s treatment of Martin Forde KC:
