Genocide apologist deletes ‘Jew-hater’ smear after legal threat from Galloway

Pro-Israel hardliner gets the Galloway treatment

Hardline Israel apologist Ben Freeman has deleted a tweet smearing new Rochdale MP George Galloway, shortly after Galloway responded to the smear with a legal threat.

Freeman – whose Twitter feed is full of rants against peaceful anti-apartheid activism and smearing marches against Israel’s genocide in Gaza as ‘hate’ and ‘racist’ and who has defended Israel’s blockade of Gaza and described antizionism as ‘post-Holocaust Jew hatred ‘propagated by the USSR’ – smeared Galloway as a ‘virulent Jew-hater’ and the votes that gave him his landslide election victory as a ‘dark day for British democracy.

And Galloway responded promptly to tell him to ‘remove this immediately or face the legal consequences’:

Sure enough, the tweet promptly disappeared:

Galloway has a consistent record of taking no nonsense from those who attempt to smear him and has already terrorised a number of journalists who tried to trap him with government lines and bias. And he has a long track record of successfully suing, for large amounts of money, people and organisations who smear him, for example the Daily Mirror group in 1992, the Telegraph in 2004, winning £150,000 in damages plus £2m in legal costs, radio station Jcom in 2008, pro-Israel Guardian hack Hadley Freeman in 2015, who deleted rather than fight, and Twitter – after which its designation of his account as ‘Russian-affiliated state media’ was removed.

As one commenter put it of his interaction with Ben Freeman, Freeman got ‘the Galloway treatment’. Other politicians could learn much from his approach:

  1. That’s the way to do it George.
Corbyn could have learned a lot from your courageous example.
    Solidarity Comrade !

      1. … Failing to do it that way CREATES moral hazard by assuring those with ill will to pursue their ill will over and over.

        WELL DONE GEORGE!!!

  2. Claudia webbe had some terrible comments on Facebook and she too has threatened legal action against the writer rosalie

    1. Good for Claudia. She has had a really bad deal from
      the Labour Party among others.

I haven’t the time to tell her story here – if readers like
to read old Skwawkie posts they will find it there.

On one broadcast of “Any Questions” (July 2022)
she was wrongly accused of making a threat and
I wrote to the BBC and complained. After a bit of
a struggle I got them to investigate .. and eventually
they grudgingly admitted it and edited it from the program
recording. They also added a short announcement to
the recording – that it was edited but did not provide
any information as to why ..

After all this – and much more – Claudia got no support
from the Labour Party and is still suspended from the
      Labour Party Whip ..

      1. Can’t she take action against the Labour Party?

  3. When I was a senior shop steward, I quickly learned this valuable trade union saying:
If you can’t defend yourself, you’ll never do fuck-all for your members.

    1. Dead right Johnsco. Unfortunately shop steward and rep training is more compliant

      1. Could not agree more johnsco1 + alexanderscottish!!! Basic and straightforward action, like the action taken by student Gorgianeh slandered by Baroness Foster.
The student did as George did. Please read the outcome below. Lets hope the substantial payment was from the Baroness’ OWN purse and not the public’s!!!

        “Baroness Foster DBE #FreeTheHostages
        @jfoster2019

“Following my public apology on X on 30 November 2023 and my private apology by personal letter on 1 December 2023, I wish to apologise to Ms Gorgianeh for my part in posts made about her on X on the 20 November 2023 following the airing of @BBC’s University Challenge programme. I wrongly alleged that Ms Gorgianeh chose one of the most disgusting antisemitic symbols, a blue octopus as her team’s mascot which I held her responsible for. I accept that these allegations were completely false and unfounded. I made a grave mistake in making those posts and I should not have done so. I again deeply apologise to Ms Gorgianeh for these allegations and any distress caused to her. We have since reached an amicable resolution. I do hope this goes some way in mitigating what has been a most distressing time for her. I have agreed to pay her substantial damages and costs..
        FYI @ChCh_Oxford @Ofcom@10DowningStreet @JamesCleverly”
        🎉✅🥇🎉✅🥇🎉✅🥇

Also TREMENDOUS of HobyFanMW to PURSUE the BBC to The Finish Line, and not resting until the vile BBC corrected their wicked slander!!!

  4. Take a look at this.

Rather misleading headline as the taxpayer will be paying.

‘We’ve got to be fair to the taxpayer’ rhetoric clearly does not apply here.

“Cabinet minister Michelle Donelan has paid an undisclosed sum and apologised to a professor after falsely suggesting she supported Hamas.”

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68486206

    1. Feckin BBC trying to mitigate for the rags by not giving the full story AGAIN.

      😡

  5. Why not start asking the fuckers ‘have you taken legal advice to ensure your not being complicit in the Genocide’
The MSM and toilet papers should face collective punishment for their part in Crimes against Humanity

  6. Meanwhile, lets take a look at what those genocide supporters who constantly scream antisemitism at every opportunity like the boy who cried wolf are actually, in their desperation, attempting to distract from:

    https://www.commondreams.org/opinion/calculate-real-gaza-death-toll

“Since the Hamas raid penetrated the multi-tiered Israeli border security on October 7, 2023 (an unexplained collapse of Israel’s defensive capabilities), 2.3 million utterly defenseless Palestinians in the tiny crowded Gaza enclave have been on the receiving end of over 65,000 bombs and missiles plus non-stop tank shelling and snipers.

The extreme right-wing Netanyahu regime has enforced its declared siege of, in its genocidal words, “no food, no water, no electricity, no fuel, no medicine.”

With virtually no healthcare left, no medications, and infectious diseases spreading especially among infants, children, the infirm, and the elderly, can anybody believe that the fatalities have just gone over 30,000? With 5,000 babies born every month into the rubble, their mothers wounded and without food, healthcare, medicine, and clean water for any of their children, severe skepticism about the Hamas Health Ministry’s official count is warranted. ……

……U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, according to the Post, warned of an “‘unknown number of people’—believed to be in the tens of thousands—lying under the rubble of buildings brought down by Israeli strikes.”

Yet, and get this, in this article, the Post still stuck with the “more than 30,000 people in Gaza have been killed since the ongoing war began.”

Just like the entire mass media, many governments, even the independent media and critics of the war would have us accept that between 98% and 99% of Gaza’s entire population has survived—albeit the sick, injured, and more Palestinians about to die. This is lethally improbable!

From accounts of people on the ground, videos and photographs of deadly episode after episode, plus the resultant mortalities from blocking or smashing the crucial necessities of life, a more likely estimate, in my appraisal, is that at least 200,000 Palestinians must have perished by now and the toll is accelerating by the hour.

Imagine Americans, if this powerful U.S.-made weaponry was fired on the besieged, homeless, trapped people of Philadelphia, do you think that only 30,000 of that city’s 1.5 million people would have been killed?

Daily circumstantial evidence of the deliberate Israeli targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructures requires more reliable epidemiological estimates of casualties.

It matters greatly whether the aggregate toll so far, and counting, is three, four, five, six times more than the Health Ministry’s undercount. It matters for elevating the urgency for a permanent cease-fire, and direct and massive humanitarian aid by the U.S. and other countries, bypassing the sadistic cruelty against innocent families of the Israeli siege. It matters for the columnists and editorial writers who have been self-censoring themselves, with some, like the Post’s Charles Lane, fictionally claiming that Israel’s military doesn’t “intentionally target civilians.” It matters for accountability under international law. ”

The mass murderers responsible and those providing cover and support for them – from politicians to media pundits and assorted cheerleaders of those same politicians need to legally swing before they move on to the rest of us who they similarly consider deplorable untermenschen.

    1. The holocaust and anti semitee accusations are losing their bite. I’m not denier or. Even close but I. Have been accused of it many times when trying to debate civilly and politely anything from psychotic settlers to brutal police actions against pro peace ✌️ Jewish does Inn Israel. Most people have access to the net and find many things intolerable and indefensible. Those chestnuts are losing their sweetness.

      1. I hope that my point was made regardless of the actions of my cheap equipment.

    1. Ach! Didn’t see @Tony’s post above.

All the same, it doesn’t stop my piss from fizzing.

  7. And what’s that (formerly) hitler-mustachioed @supertanskiiii laughing at?

I wonder keef & akehurst’ll be interested to know that tanski’s approved of a non-smarmerite politician’s tweet….Against a zionist, too!! (Probably not, or at least they won’t do owt about it as tanskii doesn’t like Corbyn).

Oh, the sheer horror!! Think of the existential it poses threat to jews, everywhere!! 😱

    (Amirite, ben freeman??)

I think someone (freeman or anyone else, really) ought to bring it to their attention 😙🎶

I would meself, but I don’t like any of them and I’m not on twixer or whatever it’s called this week.

  8. There’s all manner of fecal matter on the social platforms, most usually excreted anonymously. If you are going to ‘amplify’ your presence by commenting under your real name then you have an obligation to say things that are defensible rather than unsubstantiated crap and if you can’t manage that then you are fair game for anyone who calls you out. But please do not expect us to bail you out for your ill-considered ranting.

    1. Tim White,

      A point of clarification.

Perusing the seventeen comments on this thread as of 09:57 07/03/2024 it appears that only two posters have not posted anonymously – ie under their (full) “real name”. You are one, I am the other.

Would it be reasonable to surmise that your above post of 23:24 06/03/2024 is referring to myself or have I misinterpreted?

      Thank you.

    2. I see that the very strange website, “We have a problem”,has recruited a new headdy intellectual too their cause, Mr. John Lydon. Socialism has been defeated.

  9. Sorry to confuse – a lot on my mind.

In fact it was a TORY who made the false allegation about Claudia Webbe – but she got no support from the Labour Party as well as none from the BBC either – was really my point.

Been following the attack on the marchers and those from the Jewish Community who join the
March. There was discussion a few days ago and today also about it on R4 morning show. Bit confused about who smeared the Jewish marchers as “Left Wing Jews”.

One of the R4 speakers said advice had been sought from M’Learned – and no laws broken
but no mention that “From The River to the Sea” is from SCRIPTUREs (the Torah and the “Old Testament”) !! This gets more ridiculous every day.

So how come that it is deemed antisemitic? .. Not only that but if you read the original (from Deuteronomy***) it is extremely bellicose – the sentiments being (in the main) not unlike Netanyahu’s .. and he does in fact have his own version of this which ends “Israel shall have Sovereignty”.

*** If you google it you will get the relevant verses – which are however mitigated somewhat ..

    1. I post as alexanderscottish as a tribute to my dad who had a red flag and a jambo scarf in his coffin.I used to post various plays. On wwobble because of Joe Hill and its differences with European lefties but it has embraced views some of which I am at odds worth. I do try to put my points across honestly and hopefully occasionally humouressly humouressly humouressly. I tick most comments because of the effort and often educational Words within. Nothing sneaky or underhand. I will do so to the end. Cheers Comrades and SteveH.
