Israeli PM broadcasts ‘clarification’ – but only in English
Far-right Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has suddenly – for the first time – said that he doesn’t want to drive Palestinians out of Gaza. Previously, Netanyahu has described Gazans as ‘Amalek’, a reference to a biblical nation that the Israelites destroyed down to the last person, while his ministers have talked in various ways about the destruction, flattening, ‘voluntary’ transfer and even nuclear bombing of Gaza’s population – and his ambassador to the UK has spoken of the complete destruction of Gaza as the only ‘solution’.
The change comes on the evening before Israel faces South Africa’s genocide accusations in the International Court of Justice:

Netanyahu repeated the ridiculous claim that Israel – which has murdered more than 30,000 civilians, more than two thirds of them women and children, and maimed almost sixty thousand others – is doing all it can to minimise civilian casualties an that its orders driving Palestinians out of northern Gaza to be bombed in the south is somehow humanitarian.
Israel appears to be seriously worried about the outcome of the ICJ case. Netanyahu, who faced corruption charges before again becoming PM, looks personally worried too. But no statement or change of tune can mask Israel’s genocidal intent in its mass murder of women and children and its bombing of schools, hospitals and homes, or hide the direct violence and the deprivation of food, water, fuel and medicines that threaten to kill far more innocent Palestinian civilians than the bombs and bullets.

Every bit as obvious as a smackhead that tries to engage in polite conversation.
Should be used as an aggravating factor.
*viewed* as an aggravating factor.
The unfortunate part is, that if found guilty, beeny and his cabal won’t hang like Eichmann and the rest. And they’ll do their budgie in a cushy jail somewhere in Europe, rather than in some iranian hellhole, where (in my humble opinion) at least a modicum of justice would be meted out.
On another note, it’s been noted that former post office
cheatchief paula venals (sic) was in contention and consideration for the role of bishop of london.I dread to think of how the (child) victims of sexual abuse (by CoE clergy) would’ve been treated had venals got the gig.
Aye, Bishop of London is the third most powerful cleric in the C of E.
Justin Welby said – and did – nothing.
Now, there’s someone overdue an investigation into his life.
Has she even been de-frocked yet? She and Welby are precisely the sort of people responsible for the state of the church these days. Closing churches during lockdown was the clearest sign of spiritual corruption you could ask for. Happy to pose as shepherds to their flock but when the first wolf appeared you couldn’t see them for dust!
‘Jeremy Corbyn makes his way to The Hague today to back South Africa’s case against Israel.
The South African authorities specifically listed, only, one political figure – Corbyn.
“The South African delegation will be joined by senior political figures from progressive political parties and movements across the globe, which include amongst others Jeremy Corbyn,” the South African Ministry of Justice stated.’

Once again Jeremy Corbyn will put to shame all the UK establishment politicians – Especially Sir Starmer, who has chosen, as always, to stand with the oppressor and never with the oppressed.
Norman Finklestein provides some perspective on the current ICJ process regarding this submission:

Hope the ICJ makes a big splash on Day 1 before some distracting Western attack on the Houti rebels (or a development in the PO scandal) shoves this story down right the MSM running order!
Yes, even if ICJ makes a sunami-level splash across the world, our friends at the BBC and embedded-MSM will not report it accurately or fully. They’ll do their best to mis-represent the motive for the action and will pepper their reports with frequent reminders that certain intensely anti-Semitic voices are supporting SA’s action. All’s Fair in Love and War and reporting the news,
Qwertboi, I have followed the entire submission by South Africa in Aljeezera online. I agree with you that the BBC will be at pains as to how to report today’s session. Hence, I don’t expect a full or comprehensive reporting. However, I would be very surprise if the BBC and the wider UK’s MSM would engage in blunt misreporting.
For once, South Africa made an excellent and succinct presentation of its case, hence I have high hopes that South Africa will win this case.
Judges the world over care a lot, about their reputations among their peers. In the same way Starmer made a mistake when he appointed Forde believing that Forde will dance to its tune, the ICJ’s Tribunal will no dance to the tune of the US and Israel.
What I expect tomorrow from Israel is that is going to present a lot of pictures of how Hamas committed terrorist acts against Israel’s civilians and present itself as the victim.
The problem for Israel is that these pictures as horrible as they can be, legally speaking are irrelevant to the case presented by South Africa today.
Israel knows this, but it seek to use the opportunity to present itself one again as the victim before the Court of public opinion, specially in the US, UK and EU. Because, I don’t believe Israel has any intentions to comply with any interim measures dictated by the ICJ.
The good news is that a ruling by the ICJ in favour of South Africa, it would allow a legal challenge against US legislation that seeks to ban the use of BDS as a legitimate action. The same applies to legislation the UK is trying to pass and to legislation already implemented in Germany against the application of BDS against Israel by public bodies.

🙂 Lindsey Hilsum got a little confused, this evening, making it sound as though South Africa is the aggressor of the Palestinians.
I’ll put it down to being stood outside in a – very – cold Dutch evening.
In other news – the Israelis have been shrieking anti-Semitism, all afternoon.
before some distracting Western attack on the Houti rebels
Wait for it, tim…

Good on South Africa in bringing today’s case against the Right/Far Right Israeli Govt who are sustained by the USA & compliant lightweight Western leaders including in Europe. And remember it was the Black community in the USA who finally broke the back of Apartheid in SA when they totally got behind BDS.
And we all won. And some good news.
Now there are mass boycotts of TNCs in the Middle East & elsewhere (these TNCs sustain Israeli Apartheid) as the oppressed of the world fight back on the side of the Palestinians & capital is losing billions so we need to keep up BDS etc as capital sweats.
‘To the rich and powerful.
Last throes ‘Great’ men and women.
As arms sales, Gaza’s gas and oil plus a canal cause this capitalist crime.
But a light is shining in the oppressed of the world.
And it’s name is Palestine.’
Once a liar always a liar. His actions speak louder and it is evident that he is a corrupted depraved warmongering twat who needs to face the music for his crimes against humanity.
Skwawkbox should run a sweep on how long it takes BN to revert back to his original tune after the ICJ has made it’s judgement known. Doubt it will be long, a few minutes.
In other news – the Israelis have been shrieking anti-Semitism, all afternoon.
Every afternoon…as well as every morning, noon, evening and night. Even when nobody’s said a word. 😕
