Genocide-mongering Israeli president warmly welcomed and presented with gifts by right-wing Starmer and Labour Friends of Apartheid
Israeli president Isaac Herzog has been photographed signing shells to be fired upon Gazan civilians. Herzog, like other Israeli government figures, has said that there are no innocents being killed in Israel’s wanton slaughter of Palestinian civilians:
It’s an entire nation that is out there that’s responsible. It’s not true, this rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved. It’s absolutely not true.
So closely identified is Herzog with Israel’s war crimes that his comments were cited byexpert Raz Segal, the program director of genocide studies at Stockton University, as an example of the Israeli regime’s expression of intent to commit that and other war crimes.
According to Euromed Monitor, Israel has so far killed 30,000 people in Gaza, well over half of them women and children. Approaching 60,000 more have been injured, many of them severely.
As Declassified‘s John McEvoy has pointed out, Herzog recently received a fawning welcome from ‘Labour’ ‘leader’ Keir Starmer – who left him a signed note in a copy of a book presented to him by Steve McCabe, the parliamentary chair of the so-called ‘Labour Friends of Israel’ (LFI).
Starmer and LFI are no friends of working-class people – but they can’t get enough of those eager for war crimes against the Palestinians.

Indeed Tony! A Labour politician, he served as ‘Minister of Housing and Construction’ twenty years ago when ‘construction’ became a synonym for ‘settlements’ and indiscriminate ‘eviction’ of Palestinians in the West Bank. He’s the 11th President of Israel, and the first-ever to be Israeli by birth.
Labour politicians like Isaac “Bougie” Herzog who expertly promote a two-state solution to Israel’s imperialism problem and then instantly denounce it as ‘too difficult’ and sign shells to fire on Gaza instead are Sir Keir’s perfect future Labour representatives.

As Leader of the Israeli Labour Party (though today significantly it uses the American spelling), Herzog was known for a number of anti-Arab statements. Does anyone have the energy to find them?
Despite the barbarity we are seeing every day- the massacre of little children and innocent men and women, despite the war crimes relating to the bombing of hospitals churches and other places of refugeand the murder of journalists and medics , despite the genocide and ethnic cleansing that Israel is carrying out Keir Starmer and most of his MPs remain “Friends” of Israel – not one of them has publicly resigned as a Friend of this rogue state although the death toll of Palestinians is now stands at 20,000.
Many Tories are Friends as well- remember the infamous embrace between Lammy and Cleverly at the start of the carpet bombing of Gaza and the mass murder of Palestinians – clearly there friendship with Israel was paramount and superseded any political differences they might have .( Though in fairness there wouldn’t be that many political differences -they are both Tories after all)
Some MPs support Israel by of conviction ( these people are viciously amoral and /or moronic) but many others are bought and paid for, taking donations from Zionist lobbyists and enjoying the high life in Tel Aviv all expenses paid.
I think that every door in every constituency represented by a Friend should be leafleted informing the residents that their MP is a Friend of Israel, obtained X amount in donations from Pro Israeli sources , visited Tel Aviv X number of times all expenses paid and voted against or abstained on a Commons motion for a ceasefire.Those with shares in companies making money from the provision of weapons war planes etc to Israel should be exposed to their constituents as well
Many people are outraged by Israels action and cannot understand the support for it within parliament. Leaflets such as I suggest would explain why to the electorate and I am convinced that most of the Friends would be out on their ears at the next election.
Benn and Heffer resigned from the LFoI in 1982 (and never to return) after the invasion of Lebanon.
