Starmer shredded for daring to post Islamophobia tweet after Gaza approving war crimes

‘Ratio’ – a sign of a disastrous post – is huge as respondents shred ‘Labour’ ‘leader’ who refused to call for a ceasefire and spoke of Israel’s ‘right’ to commit war crimes

Keir Starmer has been morally and politically pulverised after daring to post a message on Twitter about Islamophobia Awareness Month – a day after telling the world he did not approve of a ceasefire to end Israel’s slaughter of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Starmer had already outraged Muslims and any right-thinking people by telling LBC radio that Israel had a ‘right’ to cut off Gaza’s water, food and medicines – a clear-cut war crime under international law – and then claimed it would be wrong to call for an end to the mass killing of civilians because it might lead to more violence.

So when he posted about Islamophobia Awareness Month and promised (we know what a Starmer promise is worth) to ‘tackle religious discrimination’, the result was so predictable that only a political idiot could have thought it was a good idea to do it.

So far, the tweet has received three times more replies than either likes or shares – a ‘ratio’ considered a sure sign of a disastrous post – but in fact the ratio was far worse, as most reposts were in fact ‘quote tweets’ that also slammed him. A selection of the responses gives a flavour of just how disastrous it was:

And so it went on. And on. And on and on and on.

Keir Starmer is a monstrous excuse for a human being – and a political moron capable of appealing only to the bigoted, credulous or closed-minded. God help this country – and all the oppressed peoples of the world – if he gets his hide anywhere near Downing Street.

But at least for today, we can enjoy his humiliation.

  1. There is only one way Labour can lose the next General Election. That is if Starmer is still leader.

  2. It is very much the law of diminishing returns with regard to the awfulness of Starmer to the point where the effort should really be expended elsewhere. For me, the awfulness of the Israeli government and the genocide being inflicted upon Gaza should not be cause or justification for the antisemitism that has erupted here.

    1. I am not convinced there has been ‘an eruption of antisemitism’, of the hundreds of thousands of people that have marched over the conflict in the past months there have been 21 arrests, in any crowd with an emotive issue you will always get a few who go too far, including graffiti and shouting out inappropriate comments, this is not welcome but is just human nature, they say there has been 218 antisemetic incidents, no list given, how many of these were actually anti-zionism? it seems not even our home secretary can tell the difference, how do we expect our increasingly low intelligence and bigoted met police force to understand the nuance? I dont mean to justify harassment but from what I see on X and what we all saw in 2017 to 2019 there is a lot of false reporting of antisemitism, indeed one celebrated politician made more that 200 accusations herself only to be told non of them were accurate, so I would hold off on the exclamations of horror until proof is supplied, I expect not many of the arrest will lead to convictions unless our facist government decides to ‘alter’ the legal system in their favour (again).

      1. mrmoose66 “human nature” sure, but it should never be used as a excuse for antisemitism. Real antisemitism has to be combated no excuses.
Still, I take you point that how can we be sure as to whatever all these incidents were antisemitic? or rather were they antizionist?
        From my point of view:
        -antisemitism is a crime
        -antizionism is a moral duty.

      2. Antisemite is a slur and is one of the most misused words in the English language. As Noam Chomsky once said Antisemites used to be people who hated Jews , now they are people who Jews hate.
It seems that anyone who opposes the State of Israels cruel and inhuman treatment of Palestinians falls into this category .I am thinking of a young environmental campaigner who has a small toy octopus, and the Sec General of the United Nations who was accused of “blood libel” when he referred to the killing of Paletinian children. An antisemite its anyone who thinks Palestinians are people and refuses to refer to them as “human animals” or “cockroaches” It is someone who uses the phrase ” the big lie” in relation to the smearing of Jeremy Corbyn or someone who says he would like people to live in peace from the river to the sea.
So I have genuine doubts about the valadity of the claims that there has been a steep rise in real antisemitism. However I might be wrong and if so it is clearly a case of the boy who cried wolf so often that when a wolf came nobody believed him.

      3. As Smartboy alludes to, language is not static but is constantly evolving and changing. And not just language but also definitions. Definitions like “antisemitism” which now includes anyone opposed to the fascist ideology of Zionism.

Below are the words of Bertram Russell written on January 31st 1970 in reference to the 1967 six day war. Referenced by Larry Johnson here – https://sonar21.com/lord-bertrand-russells-on-israels-miscalculation/

At the time no one would have even considered linking these words with the allegation of antisemitism.

Today the entire Western Corporate media would likely be leading a witch hunt to cancel Russell for antisemitism. Screeching so called Liberal harpies like Marina Hyde, Jonathan Freedland et al would be incandescent. The Telegraph would be calling for the death penalty and the Mail for the legalisation of hanging, drawing and quartering – whilst the collective thicket of idiots which make up Unherd would be calling for a new Inquisition.

If the French pass the proposed law highlighted in another thread on this blog those words below would see Russell, were he alive today, thrown into the modern day equivalent of the Bastille.

The lesson in such a climate is to take all such allegations on their own merits and with a large pinch of salt until the actual evidence has gone through proper due process.

        Russell’s words:

“the present Israeli attacks will fail in their essential purpose, but at the same time they must be condemned vigorously throughout the world.

The development of the crisis in the Middle East is both dangerous and instructive. For over 20 years Israel has expanded by force of arms. After every stage in this expansion Israel has appealed to “reason” and has suggested “negotiations”.

This is the traditional role of the imperial power, because it wishes to consolidate with the least difficulty what it has already taken by violence. Every new conquest becomes the new basis of the proposed negotiation from strength, which ignores the injustice of the previous aggression.

The aggression committed by Israel must be condemned, not only because no state has the right to annexe foreign territory, but because every expansion is an experiment to discover how much more aggression the world will tolerate.

The refugees who surround Palestine in their hundreds of thousands were described recently by the Washington journalist I.F. Stone as “the moral millstone around the neck of world Jewry.”

Many of the refugees are now well into the third decade of their precarious existence in temporary settlements. The tragedy of the people of Palestine is that their country was “given” by a foreign Power to another people for the creation of a new State. The result was that many hundreds of thousands of innocent people were made permanently homeless.

With every new conflict their number have increased. How much longer is the world willing to endure this spectacle of wanton cruelty? It is abundantly clear that the refugees have every right to the homeland from which they were driven, and the denial of this right is at the heart of the continuing conflict.

No people anywhere in the world would accept being expelled en masse from their own country; how can anyone require the people of Palestine to accept a punishment which nobody else would tolerate? A permanent just settlement of the refugees in their homeland is an essential ingredient of any genuine settlement in the Middle East.

We are frequently told that we must sympathize with Israel because of the suffering of the Jews in Europe at the hands of the Nazis. I see in this suggestion no reason to perpetuate any suffering.

What Israel is doing today cannot be condoned, and to invoke the horrors of the past to justify those of the present is gross hypocrisy. Not only does Israel condemn a vast number of refugees to misery; not only are many Arabs under occupation condemned to military rule; but also Israel condemns the Arab nations only recently emerging from colonial status, to continued impoverishment as military demands take precedence over national development.

All who want to see an end to bloodshed in the Middle East must ensure that any settlement does not contain the seeds of future conflict. Justice requires that the first step towards a settlement must be an Israeli withdrawal from all the territories occupied in June, 1967. A new world campaign is needed to help bring justice to the long-suffering people of the Middle East.

  3. Starmer showing himself for the hideous craven scum he is with this latest stunt which everyone will see straight through

      1. I had that (semi-drunken) conversation in a Dublin boozer many years back.

We were at the bar, discussing whether it was indeed the case so I asked the barman: “Ere chief, do you have Irish Jews?”

        Looking rather nonplussed, he replied:
“Errrrm….we’ve got orange jews** pineapple jews, cranberry jews….oh! You mean whiskey, for sure??

        (Taxi’s on its way, don’t worry 🚖🏃)

**Orange Jews unpopular around there, apparently 😋

    1. You got that right Toffee:

      https://caitlinjohnstone.com.au/2023/11/02/as-the-lights-go-out-in-gaza/

“As the lights go out in Gaza

In America they killed all the buffalo just to take away food from the natives,
made mountains of their skulls and posed proudly in photos
like they posed proudly in front of burnt bodies after lynchings in the south.

In Australia they stole the brown children and gave them to pale families
and watched their ancient civilization disappear into the toxic fumes of industry
like a sailboat into the mist.

In Israel teenagers play with buttons that cause explosions on screens
and look forward to the end of the Gaza operation
so they can leave and go play better video games.”

In Gaza mothers clutch tattered pieces of flesh and clothing to their chests
and scream names that will never again be answered
and call out questions to the heavens that will also go unanswered.

And the ghosts of the buffalo roam through the ruins
      looking for their heads
while the people of Gaza comb through the rubble
      looking for their dead,
and the rest of us stare at screens and cry like babies
and ask our own unanswered questions
of heavens clouded by the fumes of industry,
vanishing stars above a dying world
as the lights go out in Gaza
      one by one.”

    1. Starmer seems to have missed the distinction made here at the UNSC:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCJmnTp0y2U

“Israel has no right to self defense because it is an Occupying Power said Vassily Nebenzia, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, during a Security Council meeting this morning in New York.

Specifically, Nebenzia stated “”All the West can do is talk about Israel’s right to self defense, even though, as the occupying state, it has no such right…””

      1. Dave – Not at all, are you?

You’re the useless idiot who is supporting the corrupt wannabe imperialist Putin who has maintained himself in power through fear, imprisonment, torture and murder so that he and his cronies can continue to enrich themselves by stealing from the Russian people.🤔

        Is Putin now supporting Hamas❓

      2. Don’t be so deliberately disingenuous Billy. People might think you are some cheap prostitute getting paid for the bollocks you spout.

The Russian people of the Donbass have a right to self defence and to call for aid and assistance in defending themselves – which exactly what happened.

        As do the Palestinian people.

When you’ve answered the question which has been put to you repeatedly but which you refuse to answer because you cannot – what were your Ukrainian Nazi friends doing massed on the Donbass contact line whilst massively increasing the shelling of fellow Ukrainians for speaking the wrong language whilst most of the Russian troops were far to the north in Belarus, all in breach of the Minsk agreements which only the Russians were honouring – then maybe you deserve a hearing from the grown ups.

While you are it you might also attempt to explain why Putin refused to recognise the Donbass Republics for so long and tried to make the Minsk agreements work., unlike the Nazis and their Western backers you have consistently cheerleaded.

You are either deluded as to who the imperialists are in this case or you are a deliberate liar. Which is it Bill? Liar of deluded dupe? Take your time kid. You’ve demonstrated plenty of time on this site how hard it is for you think. .

        “Is Putin now supporting Hamas?”

What a moronic question given the Israeli and Western role in creating Hamas to undermine the Palestinian Authority. Just as the Western Imperialist powers created the Muslim Brotherhood to undermine secular Arab Nationalism. Not to mention creating the “moderate” Jihadists in Syria.

Presumably, in your fantasy world Billy, “Putin” is against Hezbollah given that Hamas fought on the side of the Americans against Hezbollah in Syria? You might just as well ask the question “Is Putin supporting the Israeli’s and the American’s?

This unhealthy obsession with one individual by the way- which implies everything would be honky dory if only his moderating influence and grown up approach did not exist – is clouding what little judgement you possess.

Have you tried seeking therapy for your PDS condition?

  4. You’ve done it now Skwarkie. Starmer is bound to have another one of his hissy fits. The big man will start laying in to teenagers again

    1. Albert Swift……Nah, it will be small kids for SirKidHarmer. Especially Palestinian kids.

  5. What can I add to these most-eloquent descriptions of Trilateralist Starmer.
The above comments say it all !

  6. You can see the video of Craig Mokhiber, the Human Rights Director, who resigned from the UN here:

  7. When Starmer & the Right pushed for a 2nd PV (with two thirds of Labour constituencies being Pro Brexit) perhaps they deliberately wanted Labour to lose to end the Corbyn Dream as they couldn’t beat us on ideas?
So perhaps now with history it’s pay back time for Starmer and his actions/lack of actions over Gaza – Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory!
Recommend Perry Anderson on International Law in the latest New Left Review (Oct/Nov 2023) and it seems rich countries do whatever they want with it but if poor countries to do exactly the same they are ‘criminals.’ But perhaps a quote Anderson uses is perfect for Mr S?
“They know of civilisations. But not of civilisation.”
    Ceasefire Now!

  8. Cllr Asjad Mahmood’s resignation-request to Starmer is justified. Many Moslem labourites noted that Starmer reversed Conference’s resolution to support Kashmir in his first 10 days and wondered why. They then noticed that he never supported any call from them for vigorous support for the two-state resolution to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. Now they see his lack of compassion and failure to speak-out against the large-scale and indiscriminate killing of innocent human beings by Israel.

Keir Starmer is a bad leader of Labour and Cllr Mahmood’s resignation-request is vindicated by Starmer’s own behaviour and lack of leadership.

  9. I see Andy Mac is suing some toerag MP for libel…

    https://voxpoliticalonline.com/2023/11/03/andy-mcdonald-issues-writ-for-libel-against-tory-mp/#comment-131207

Excellent. But PLEASE, don’t make one of the many mistakes Corbyn did. Sue the bastard with the intent of bankrupting him so he can’t ever stand as an mp.

THEN donate the award to whichever good cause.

They’d do it to you ,Andy. (Most likely sticking any award in their arse pocket, too.)
