Peace award recipient again targeted by Israeli forces

Palestinian activist Issa Amro was arrested, beaten and detained without charge on Friday 7 October, prompting an alert to be put out by his supporters:

However, Skwawkbox understands that Amro – who has been recognised by the United Nations for his steadfast commitment to non-violent activism for human rights – has now been released after spending the day in detention and without access to legal help.
Amro has been targeted repeatedly by Israeli forces – including unprovoked beatings and two arrests for filming IDF soldiers beating Jewish Israeli supporters of Palestinian human rights – and had his home sealed off by soldiers for daring to complain about the harassment.
Skwawkbox awaits further details about the circumstances of today’s detention and release.
