Right-wing libel hack’s swipe gives you still more reason to support Skwawkbox

Right-wing hack Lee Harpin – whose articles have led to major financial compensation to victims of his smears – has tried to have a pop at Skwawkbox, but it is likely to backfire.

Harpin – responsible for, among others, a ‘litany of lies‘ about Liverpool legend Audrey White – tweeted snarkily that ‘funds must be running out’ after a Skwawkbox appeal:

The context that he unsurprisingly left out is that Skwawkbox is supported exclusively by ordinary people, with none of the big donors that the right profits from and no advertising or sponsorship, and of course some of those ordinary people are struggling in the Establishment-engineer ‘cost of living crisis’, so Skwawkbox asked those who are able to do so without hardship to consider joining in.

Harpin’s tweet got little traction and what response it did get was mostly people pointing out the obvious:

It’s not the first time the right has attempted to attack Skwawkbox’s finances. It backfired then and will probably backfire now.

After all, if anyone was wavering about whether to donate, the opportunity to annoy ‘Harpic’ by making his attempted swipe work to the benefit of this site may well tempt them over the line.

If you are in a position where it won’t cause you difficulty and you value what this site does, please consider a one-off or modest monthly donation via PayPal via this link, or use this one to set up a monthly donation via GoCardless (Skwawkbox will contact you to confirm the GoCardless amount). Thank you for your solidarity.
