Russian claims supported by the revelations, including email saying development of US facilities would ‘assert Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia’
Last week, the Russian government held a press conference accusing the US of building ‘bioweapon’ facilities close to the Russian border with Ukraine – claims that were branded by western media and governments as Russian propaganda to justify Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Before the official Russian claim, online observers had pointed out such US facilities in Ukraine, only to be attacked as conspiracy theorists or ‘mouthpieces’ for Russian president Vladimir Putin.
However, emails found on a laptop discarded by US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter suggest that the claims are accurate, according to information published today by the Daily Mail – and that the purpose of the bioweapon labs was to exert US influence in the region while peeling Ukraine away from Russia.
The emails show that Biden Jr introduced Metabiota, a ‘Department of Defense contractor specialising in research on infectious diseases that could be used as bioweapons’, to a Ukrainian firm of which he was a board member for a ‘science project’ involving the building of the labs – and as the Mail notes:.
although Metabiota is ostensibly a medical data company, its vice president emailed Hunter in 2014 describing how they could ‘assert Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia‘ – an unusual goal for a biotech firm.
…Emails and defense contract data reviewed by DailyMail.com suggest that Hunter had a prominent role in making sure Metabiota was able to conduct its pathogen research just a few hundred miles from the border with Russia.
…Former senior CIA officer Sam Faddis, who has reviewed emails on Hunter’s laptop, told DailyMail.com that the offer to help assert Ukraine’s independence was odd for a biotech executive.
‘It raises the question, what is the real purpose of this venture? It’s very odd,’
Biden Jr and his colleagues helped raise several million dollars to help finance the venture, according to the records. Metabiota’s vice president has been pictured meeting Ukrainian military officials.
According to former CIA officer Faddis, the official US Department of Defense position is that the project was for early warning of new pandemics. Why this should be sited in Ukraine and why the US firm would write to Biden Jr that it was a way of tying Ukraine more closely to the West has not been explained.
The US government has awarded tens of millions of dollars to other firms as well as Metabiota for what the government describes as ”study infectious agents or toxins that may be transmitted through the air and cause potentially lethal infections‘.
Unsurprisingly, given the inconvenience of these facts for the official narrative, while media in India, Turkey and other countries have covered the news – some days earlier than the Mail – the rest of the UK’s media appear to be ignoring the story. A Google search for Biden plus Metabiota revealed no other results among UK press or broadcasters as of the time of writing.
