Protest this Sunday against Liverpool arms fair

Protesters will gather in Liverpool this Sunday against the Liverpool arms fair – an event that should never have been taking place. After the electronic arms fair was cancelled in the city last September and more than 40,000 people emailed the council, then-mayor Joe Anderson promised to develop an ‘ethical charter’ that would prevent future events:

However, Anderson resigned as the city’s mayor at the end of last year following his arrest – he was not charged with any crime – and a ‘repeat‘ of the arms fair has been scheduled under the new mayor and will include firms that have been instrumental in Israel’s attacks on Palestinians.

Join the protest from 1.30pm at the St Luke’s ‘bombed-out church’ for a 2pm march and ‘die-in’.
