Corbyn’s elegant put-down re Umunna unpaid intern ad – Twitter LOLs in response

Labour MP Chuka Umunna has faced criticism since a Leeds University student tweeted an ad, circulated by the university, for an unpaid intern to work in his London office. Umunna justified the ad by pointing to the policies of IPSA, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.

But that hasn’t let him escape an elegant – and not personal – reprimand from his party leader.

Former Corbyn aide Matt Zarb-Cousin has tweeted Umunna’s ad alongside an extract from a briefing note sent today by the Labour leader’s office to all MPs with a gentle reminder of party policy:
