Why the hell is Theresa May standing on a box in Canada?

Theresa May is in Canada for talks ahead of the new EU-Canada trade deal. So far, so ho-hum.

What is far more interesting, though, is footage that captured Theresa May standing next to Canadian premier Justin Trudeau – on a box.

Here is how Mrs May and Mr Trudeau look au naturel, presumably in a setting where there was no option but to ‘be herself’:

But for some reason, during a welcome ceremony in which the pair stood still for some time, Mrs May wanted to appear, well, taller:

It seems Theresa May’s understandable sense of insecurity, with her Foreign Secretary and others jockeying for position to take her job, is spilling over into her interactions with others.

  1. Margaret Thatcher sacked one hundred ministers.

Theresa May is too weak to sack one.

Such a weak prime minister is a danger to our national security.
