Unison/USDAW chase BFAWU seat on NEC

After the good news for Labour’s left-wing membership majority earlier today that pro-Corbyn ASLEF and the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) will take two seats on Labour’s NEC (National Executive Committee) comes news of a possible set-back.

NEC sources have told the SKWAWKBOX that the FBU/ASLEF seats are two that are to be vacated by Unite, which Unison or USDAW were hoping to take. Preventing this represents a huge victory for Corbyn and his supporters.

However, the Unison and USDAW are both still hoping to take one further NEC place and may be targeting BFAWU (Bakers, Food and Allied Workers) representative Pauline McCarthy.

Ms McCarthy, pictured above with Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, would be a serious loss for Labour’s Corbyn-supporting members. The votes of unions such as the GMB will be crucial in deciding the outcome.

The uncertain result makes it all the more urgent that Corbyn and his supporters make as many steps forward as possible while they have a working majority on the NEC with Alex Rowley’s presence instead of the recently-departed Scottish leader Kezia Dugdale.

  1. AS FAR AS I AM AWARE, UNIONS WERE CREATED TO STOP SLAVE LABOUR CONDITIONS IN THE WORKPLACE!
ALONG WITH THE LABOUR PARTY BACK IN THE DAY!
CREATED FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE!
THE LIKES OF UNISON/USDAW WHO ARE ON THE BLUE RIGHT WING OF POLITICS!
WHO ARE, ROYALLY RIPPING THEIR MEMBERS OFF WITH DEALS DONE, THAT LEAN TOWARDS THE TORY PARTY LINE AND MANAGEMENT!
THEY SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR LABOUR PARTY!
    EXPEL THEM!
