Please send this email to your Teesside MP or Labour’s Health Team

I wrote earlier today about the unilateral and extortionate pay measures that North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Trust are trying to bully its staff into accepting. Lots of people have asked me how they can help support health-workers and resist this intimidatory and coercive tactic.

One way, if you live in the area, is to write to your MP asking them to step in to help prevent the change and insist on proper negotiation. If you don’t live in the area, you can still email Labour’s Health Team: Andy Burnham, Andrew Gwynne, Liz Kendall, Diane Abbott and Jamie Reed and ask them to step in and ensure their local colleagues join the fight.

You can find your local MP on http://www.theyworkforyou.com by entering your postcode. If you live away from the area, you can email Labour’s health team by using the email format:

(eg. andrew.gwynne.mp@parliament.uk)

This is the message I sent to Stuart Bell, Middlesbrough’s Labour MP – please modify your message to fit (and so that it isn’t blocked by the site’s spam filters if you use theyworkforyou.com), and then email away!

Dear ,

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust is extorting its staff into accepting a local change to national pay terms by telling them any who do not accept a change to sick pay will be dismissed and forced to re-sign on a new contract including the diminished conditions.

The hospitals may be outside your constituency, but many NTH staff live in your electoral area and will be affected by this change. Reduced income will also impact the local economy as their spending power is reduced. Please work urgently together with all your local Parliamentary colleagues to block this move and prevent the Trust making a non-negotiated, unilateral change that will impact the income of hard-working and dedicated health staff.

Please confirm by return what actions you will take and keep me updated regarding developments.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Thank you for your help and support!
