Israeli firms have contracts for the security and systems of Spain‘s rail operator Renfe, whose trains were involved in the deadly crash this week that killed at 69 people.
Anti-genocide activist Nicole Jenes quizzed X’s AI system about potential Israeli links between Renfre and Israeli companies. The AI responded that:
I-SEC (subsidiary of Israeli ICTS, founded by former Shin Bet) holds Renfe contracts for onboard train, station and workshop security across multiple regions including Galicia, Madrid and Catalonia.
Cylus (Israeli rail cybersecurity specialist) partners with Alstom, a major supplier and maintainer of Renfe high-speed trains; Alstom has integrated Cylus technology into its systems.
IAI/ELTA’s NIART obstacle-detection radar has been tested with Alstom, creating an indirect technical link, though no direct Renfe contract is confirmed.
No AI ‘hallucination’
The information is not an AI ‘hallucination’, but also not entirely relevant. In 2024, Renfe awarded I-Sec three new contracts for rail safety and security. However, French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom, which invested millions in Cylus to use its ‘cyber-security’ systems, makes Renfe’s AVE ‘Class 100’ trains – but the train involved in the crash was reportedly a ‘Class 103’, manufactured by Siemens. Nevertheless, Spanish journalism site Maldita describes Cylus as:
collaborating closely in the Spanish technical ecosystem.
Jenes responded that she was ‘so “surprised”‘:
In April of this year, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Spain and any other countries that dared challenge it with “an immediate price”. He was speaking in response to Spain’s strong condemnation of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Israel has denounced narratives attributing wildfires that devastated Spain this summer as ‘antisemitic’. Israelis have been definitively linked to similar fires started in Argentina and Chile. Secret Israeli-run bioweapons labs in the US have been whitewashed.
The Spanish government’s narrative attributes the crash to a signal failure, followed by human error allowing the high-speed Renfe train to go through a red light.
Israel has a long and proven history of ‘false-flag’ attacks and other violence against allies to achieve political ends, including the September 2024 terrorist bombings in Lebanon, which used tampered pagers and killed and maimed thousands, including children. The possibility of its involvement in the crash should at least be properly investigated.
